So in layman's term for Shadetree mechanical dummies like me that only have ever dealt with nuts and bolts . What exactly are those gear heads saying right there .

Don't do the quick relearn but do the adaptation reset function.
That clears out what it has "learned" and forces it to start learning again as you drive.

Apparently the quick relearn is something different (I've never used that) and you have to jump through some other hoops to make it learn.
but clearing the adaptation using the reset function is like putting in a TCM that hasn't learned how to act yet.
I've seen it in JSCAN but have never used it as my automatic actually behaves quite nicely.

What can I say that made so much more sense to me reading your response 😂
Thanks again.
Edit: I downloaded JScan and played around with the app in Demo mode till I figured out where that Adaptive Values Relearn was. No to purchase cables and VIN license when I am ready.
There was 3 of them in there a quick relearn Long version , Quick Relearn Short version , and Adaptive Values relearn for when transmission has been rebuilt it says.
Which If it is either new or slightly used out of another Gladiator I am figure the adaptive Values relearn is the proper thing to do.

Will do. I just hope the Service
Department tells the truth and no give me a lot of run around and say crap like it needs a new transmission and such. Personally I think it just needs the default codes cleared.
Hey @TomKat729...maybe I missed it but any update?

Hopefully the service dept isn't jerking you around...

Sounds like it is electronically stuck in Drive. There is no mechanical connection to the gear shifting other that the Manual Park Release Cable.

I would try engaging the Manual Park Release Cable. Pulling it once should put it in Neutral, pulling it a second time should put it in Park.

Sorry for the late update. Technician said the TCM fuse was missing. i have no idea. I didnt pull any fuses, only checked them with the meter. No charge for the fuse. Scan was $130, and tow for 29 miles was $175 which the extended warranty paid. Shout out to the Greenville CJDR Service Department in Greenville, Alabama. And yes I have cameras outside, and no one pulled any fuses.

There have been cases of "loose" fuses from the factory. A good bounce or heating and cooling cycles, and .............
