As the title states I’d like to see some daytime nighttime shots of different backlights. I’ve been going down the rabbit hole on this one. I want the backlighting because I want people to see me. I always drive with headlights on. Not because I can’t see but so that OTHERS can see me. Some little amber accents will only make me more noticeable so I’m a fan. I’ve seen what’s on the websites but how far can you trust marketing? I don’t discriminate on price points either. Harbor Freight, Diode Dynamics, Baja Designs, or Amazon specials. Whatever you have show em off please!!!

Edit: while I do appreciate seeing the backsides of the Gladiators when I’m saying “backlights” I’m referring to the low power lights that stay lit on certain lights while the main beam is off. I guess some call them a DRL. Just thought I’d clarify.

My factory LED DRLs are very bright and visible from a long ways away. I don’t think that driving with my headlights on during the day would do much of any good.

It’s mostly habit. I plan on going to Morimoto Sealed 7s eventually anyway to have the turn signals in the headlights. I have high clearance fenders with the turn under the fender and it’s pretty much nonexistent. I want as much of a “if you didn’t see me the dmv needs to reevaluate you” factor as possible. Part of driving in SoCal.

Not sure if it’s legal on the highway but it’s fun on the trail for a chase light.

As long as it’s something that only happens during a stopping sequence you’re good. If it’s a constant it can be a pullable offense. Red strobing lights traditionally represent Medical type Emergency vehicles.

I do like it though!!! Is that the one you send in to be rewired?

Yes. And he will change it anytime you want but you have to mail it back. Look at the website and find the one called RIG. I’m thinking of changing mine to that. When the accessory wire is tapped into the truck lights they stay on all the time. Then the brake light overrides it.
Hopefully he’ll come up with an app in the future so we can change it on the fly.

I I use these as a dust light and to override the blinding license plate lights when using the backup camera The KC’s are very bright and replaced the reflectors with metal plates from a guy on Etsy

I added some protected lighting on the rear bumper. They are awesome for reverse cam and help with seeing in the mirrors as well.

Yeah I’ve considered it. I’m in a Red bastion of SoCal. I just like the climate too much in relation to where all the wheeling is. The politics and prices I wouldn’t miss but I would miss my 3 rural flat acres at a fairly good elevation. Only go to town to take kids to school or if I really need to so I’m good with it.

Yes, the climate and the country are nice. Rode my motorcycle 11 months of the year.
Gas is going to rise to 8 dollars or more once those 3 refineries finish closing.
Maybe that will be the nail in the coffin for that state.

We were real close to leaving back in August. We drove to Idaho and looked at some property in Eagle/Star. I loved it there but when we got home, my wife bought another restaurant near Sacramento with her friend.
