So, I recently installed an Alloy 1.5 (same as Daystar 1.5) level kit on top of my rubicon springs on my Sport S Max. Ive had it on for about a week now. Yesterday i decided to look underneath and noticed that the driver side has a slight bowing of the spring. The passenger side looks fine.
I have verified that spring is in perches correctly, and isolators are in correct position.
What is it, that causes the spring bow, and what would cause it to really only be one side?

I know there are aftermarket perches you can buy to help correct this (RK, daystar, etc), but do they really resolve the problem? What if the problem is really only on one side?

Thoughts?

I had the same problem with the TeraFlex 1.5 kit. It looked really bad while installing it. I had a friend pushed the top towards the frame while it was being compressed (shock attached) and once it was on the ground it was pretty good with 1/4 - 3/8 clearance between the bump stop ring and spring. I would like a explanation of this also.

seems like once it gets a good flex and unloaded, it would just move back to how it was though?

Roughly 3/8” clearance in the inside edges between the spring and bump stop ring. I think it is as good as we will get. Is yours worse?

Sounds like you are talking about a track bar that is too short. . I don't think that is the issue. I wonder if stock setup didn't look like this too and we just never looked at it. lol I saw some other guys post about it on here and nobody had a clear answer why it is happening.

Your bulge look just like mine. I have a Diesel and you have Max tow.

I feel like it looked like this a little bit when i put on the rubicon springs, but maybe not as noticeable until after the additional 1.5 spacers. Not that ive seen it, I cant unsee it. It sits even height wise, and rides ok...it just bothers me seeing it like that.

I am on C rated 315/70/17 KO2. They ride good. I actually got them used, and still have plenty of life left in them. Couldnt really tell you about snow, ive not had them in any.

alright. I just got through popping in some daystar correct pads for mopar coils. I must say I am happy, and now my springs look good.

Could be just my mind, but it feels like it rides a little better and maybe popped the front up a smidge.

I know several months have passed on this post but getting ready to do a spring swap. So for kicks this morning went out and looked at my stock Sport setup and my drivers side spring has a slight bow

Noticed this on mine as well after I installed teraflex 1.5" kit. Passenger side looks perfectly straight, driver's side slight bow. What the hell is the deal? So redfish, you say your stock setup los.lime this? I have a Sport as well, don't really remember paying any attention to the looks of it before I leveled the front. Weird! Just wonder if this.will get any worse down the road and create issues!?
