i have a 21 sport willys and tow a small rv (3500 lb or so) occasionally. want to add a leveling kit to minimize the rake. opinions on whether i should install a 1.5" or 2.5" kit. which would be best when i tow? would a 2.5 make my rear sag to much when im hitched to the rv? i do have a winch plate and winch on the front......

I think the 2.5s make the jt look nose high and silly…if you were to then add a trailer it would look like a pooping dog.

the 1.5 is close to lvl in my opinion and looks way better.

but with the winch and plate uo front the higher lift may just workout.

id look at the alloy usa 1.5 front since its inexpensive. Cheap enough, and easy to install, to grab it and see if you want or need more.

Why spend the money on a, "Leveling Kit?"
Just toss a few hundred pounds of sandbags in the back, and it'll level right out. And it'll ride better, too.
Then when you hook up your trailer, you can just take out the sandbags and still be level...

Anyway are you using a weight distribution hitch ?? I doubt it’s really needed at that weight but the owner’s manual does recommend one at 2500lbs I believe. It would allow you to keep it level with or without the trailer

I did 1.5" in front and 3/4" in the rear as a poo-mans lift but to lvl a little while keeping some rake for load.

That was my first setup before doing the iron rock off road 2in front/rear spacers. It looked great!

I have 1.5” spacer front .75” spacer in back, the boats I tow are around 3000-3500lbs, around 10% tongue weight. Still looks pretty level IMO with the trailer attached.

i actually do use a weight distribution hitch, had it from a prior suv and thought i might as well use it. hadnt thought about that, thanks for the reminder.

That WDH will make a notable difference.

You could also look at the airlift 1000 airbag kit. Theyre inexpensive, easy to install, and do wonders for keeping the bed level with a load.

Only issue with bags is that the weight that is removed from the front axel by the trailer weight is not redistributed back to the front axel by the bags. It simply helps squat in the rear.

of course. The bags are good for cargo in the bed and helping keep a nice level ride. A WDH is important for the stability it adds. Since the OP mentioned camping gear and a small bed size I figured the bags would be of help. Theyve certainly helped me
