For those of you who have Driving/spotlights on your chase bar, how effective are they? Does the cab get in the way to the point where they serve no other purpose outside of looking cool?

I'm torn on what to get but something has to get mounted, it looks wrong as is.

Put some obnoxiously bright CHASE lights on your CHASE bar.

When people ride your ass you can blast them with the lights! HAHA!

lol, well as tempting as it sounds, I think in Houston you can get shot for such a thing. Hell, people get shot for less around there. but I do already have some LED cargo lights back there that I can flip on as they are tapped into the factory cargo lights.

oh hey, you're from Houston, you already know lol

Haha! Yessir! I was going to say, being in Houston, you should always be prepared to shoot back at a moment's notice!

depends on what you put up there.

a lightbar probably won't be that effective. a round spot probably would be better, since they have a higher point than the lightbars.

I have 7" rounds that outshine my hi-beams, so something like that would be better up there.

My plan is to run a few Diode Dynamics SS5 spots on the front of my bed rack. If I need to lift them up to get them to fully clear the top I will add another peice of extrusion to lift it.

I think it might actually work better than the traditional mounting method of above the windshield. Well, better in the sense that you shouldn’t get hood glare as the roof. Also in that camp who thinks lights on a chase looks awesome. Eager to see what you land with.

I used to have them on mine when I first purchased my Gladiator. Didn't use them though, so can't tell you how good or bad they were. The mounts were adjustable though.

Thanks. A local company fabbed it up for the dealership I got it from. Same with the lights. My Jeep couldn't fit in the garage and they were calling for some nasty weather, so I took them off.

I have the same chase and rear cargo lights as you. I had to go with the KC gravity windshield bar for the fronts.

If you want usable light in front of the vehicle, then the cab will be in the way unless the lights are mounted way above the bar. Here's a visual:

Yea, my plan is spots on the bar and a couple driving/combo lights on the bumper to fill in the gap
