I'm installing an underseat ARB compressor. I need to power up the switch so that it only has power when the ignition is on or accessories. I was wondering if someone can point me to an ignition powered wire under the dash. Also I want to light up the switch when the dash lights are on. What wire would I be looking for?

Thanks

Not sure for the lights, but I tapped into the 12v plug wire in the dash for my amp.

For my ham radio, I tapped into fuse 52, which pulls in a relay to power the radio and only when the ignition/accy switch is on.
I used an add-a-circuit to do so. You'd need the micro size to do this. Works like a champ.

Thanks for link to the fuse taps. I'll be doing something similar but to power a timer relay so the radios can run some amount of time after you park then they will shut off after a prescribed delay. These timer relays are usually expensive but show up on Epay cheap now and then. You can adjust the shut of time from 0 to about 4hrs depending on the version.
