Hello fellow gladiator owners,
it was not by choice, but more of a concession during the search and purchase process, due to the overall vehicle options, that I chose to buy my Overland with the Factory Sprayin Bedliner. However, I find the Sprayin Bedliner to be tough on cargo: sheet goods, trim, personal items and gear, even expensive coolers take a beating from the rough surface.

Has anyone resorted to adding a Bedmat or even an entire Bedliner on top of the Sprayin Bedliner with any success? …want to solve this before my next stint at the waters edge striper fishing.
Thanks for any input or suggestions!
I tossed a bed mat that I made out of my old Ram trucks bed mat. Then on top of that I put a great Dane dog kennel tray that is 4.5 x 3.5 feet wide and fills most of the space between the wheel wells. This lets me throw things on it and just pull the tray in and out to get things.

If I did anything - I'd do the bedrug myself. There are times I haul expensive wood or when we travel with luggage, etc.......................

@ShadowsPapa is right. Bedrug (full or mat) is definitely the way to go- I've had them in 2 other trucks; they are tough as nails but soft on cargo. I'm actually about to order one myself. They're technically made of plastic, but feel like padded carpet.

Actually it surprised me how compliant the Mopar liner is. I like the side protection and wraps over the top of the bed front. Stuff doesn’t really slide around. And it’s fairly soft walking on it. Tonneau cover seals it off nice.

I used some 16x16 rubber tiles I had and cut them and made a bed mat. Got them all for free so I figured I'd put some of them to use. They came in handy

I had my bed Rhinolined which does not have as aggressive texture as some of the other sprayed on liners. I kept the rubber mat from my Dodge Ram pickup and cut it to fit my Gladiator bed. Extra protection just in case.

Not related but I had my aftermarket front bumper LineX'ed. That finish should last forever.

I've run the full Bed Rug in my last 2 trucks, and Bed Rug XLT (floor and tailgate) in the Gladiator. I Line-X do the bed then added the Bed Rug XLT. I love it. They are way more durable than you would think and you can clean them up with a pressure washer if the get dirty. Added bonus is the it doesn't tear up you knees when you crawl around in the bed.

I had a $20 mat from under my workout machine that I cut to fit the bed if I need to pad my bedliner.
Works great, cheap, heavy but light at the same time. Dog likes it too! Heck I like using it when I have to work or lay in the bed.

How does the bedrug hold up to dust / dirt, is it easy to clean?

I'm not the member you asked, but as I stated earlier I've had a Bed Rug in my last 2 trucks and a Bed Mat XL in my Gladiator. It sounds kind of weak, but they attach using large strips of a very strong Velcro on the bed, smaller pieces in key attachment areas, and a really good fit along the bed. With the full Bed Rug with the sides it fits tight enough that it would probably stay in place without the Velcro, but the Velcro helps a ton. I was a little concerned about the Bed Mat I installed in my Gladiator because it didn't have the sides, but with the fit to the bed and the Velcro, it is solidly in place. The main thing when installing is that you clean the area your attaching the Velcro and used the adhesion promotor (especially on if you have the Linex or factory spray in liner).

As for durability, I've hauled landscape rock, brush, and any number of things on my bed rug without issue. The only thing that I've struggled with is the pine needles from Christmas trees as they tend to cling to the 'rug' part of the bed rug. Another surprising benefit is that things don't slide around near as much as when I just had the Linex and it doesn't damage things when they do move around. The Linex was like my 50 grit belt sander belt.

As for cleaning, it's super easy. You can spray it off at a carwash or with a pressure washer. I usually wait for a warm day and leave the tonneau open. It dries pretty quickly and looks as good as the day you bought it. Note that it's not actually a fabric, it's a poly/nylon type product. I've been really impressed with these for their durability, looks, and functionality. This is always one of my first mods, and I'll never have a truck without one.

The only issue I've ever had with any of mine is the piece that covers the gap between the bed and tailgate when the tailgate is down (if you get that model - I always have). That part is not padded and tends to fold down between the bed and tailgate when the tailgate is up. This tends to break my tailgate seal and gets wet which can cause it to smell a bit over time. I almost didn't get this version for the gladiator, but I really like that it keeps stuff from falling between the bed and tailgate. I came with the idea that using something like Flex Seal to make it a little stronger and more waterproof. Before installing it I flipped it over (where the top was facing down). I then put two 2x4's on either side of the part that fills the gap and put them close enough to allow it to cup downwards towards the top that's facing the ground. I then sprayed it with a couple of cans of Flex Seal and let it dry for a few days. This has worked great so far. Now the section between the tailgate and bed folds upward into the bed allowing my tailgate seal to work and keeps this part of the bed dry. If this is confusing I'll try to take a couple of pictures

Also, I'm not affiliated with Bed Rug in any way, I just like the product.

I actually wanted to get the premium LineX spray in liner over the factory job. It's was more expensive ($730) but it never fades in the sun and is much easier to keep clean. It was worth the extra and definitely looks better than the factory job.
