Just wondering what tools to bring on a Death Valley trip. Can't bring every tool to do everything. Does anyone check for loose bolts and nuts before a trip. What ones come loose? Is there a list anywhere of what tools are needed?
I am going to bring the tools for suspension mostly. Voltmeter and a small assortment of misc tools. I bring no extra parts.

Lots of long washboard roads that like to rattle things loose. Some spare bolts and nuts for control arms, shocks, and sway bars makes sense

Once in my old Tacoma going down Saline Valley Road fast enough to stay on top of the washboards, I had a horn bracket fatigue and break off. On its trip down and out of the vehicle, it punctured the A/C condenser. (Lucky for us it was winter so not really a big deal except the repair). So now I back them up with baling wire for safety, probably overkill though

Properly airing down can reduce that kind of problem but of course means you need just as much care in selection and maintenance of the air compressor
