So i just got my 2023 Rubicon. Seems to have a lot of play in the steering. Is this normal? If no how to correct?

New?

Warranty, Dealership.
Unfortunately used. 5000mile when I bought it a week or so ago. Assuming it has remainder of factory warranty?

It's more than drivable, just feels like more play in the wheel than I would have expected.

What's your tire pressure at? Too high and it feels like loose steering.

I haven’t checked the torques on all things front end yet but I definitely have to micro manage the steering and it’s a pain in the neck. Notwithstanding, I freaking love my JT!

Check everything suspension and steering related for proper torque and torque procedures.

I did a video on my youtube channel about 3 or 4 years ago concerning the pitman arm nut not being properly torqued causing a lot of issues. So you have to check everything because not only do they wear over time, but vehicles (not just jeep) are coming from the factory with basic QC issues.

You're welcome..

Just so you'll know in case you decide to check it yourself (which I recommend), that pitman arm nut should be 184 ft/lbs.

Just replacing the OE track bar with one that has Johnny Joints in each end when possible eliminating the clevite bushings . It made a difference on every Jeep I have ever owned. It made a noticeable difference at only 7500 miles on the OE. Same with lower front control arms Core again being Savvy don't seem to be interested in JL/JTs as much as he did TJ's. I don't use JJ's in the uppers for other reasons so I use Metalcloak also in lower rears. Once lifted the Rancho geo brackets really made a nice difference. little things all add up as do the cost but who knows how to stop , I don't .
