Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some assistance or hear from anyone who has experienced a similar issue.
I have a 2021 JT with a little over 62,000 miles. Recently, I’ve noticed a light antifreeze smell every time I shut off the engine. I performed a pressure test and confirmed that it is losing coolant, but only a very small amount. I filled the coolant reservoir, left the vehicle parked for several days, and have since noticed the coolant level has dropped again. The issue is that I don’t see any visible leaks. I’ve already replaced the radiator cap, but that did not resolve the problem.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any insight into what might be causing this?

Thank you in advance.

Check for a pinkish-white residue on the line going into the bottom of the reservoir. It's been found that the seal in the line connector likes to leak.

I can smell coolant very faintly on occasion with my truck. Never did a pressure test though. I added coolant once or twice and now it stays level. I'm chalking it up to being underfilled at the factory. Power steering fluid was low too. Neither have apparent leaks. Truck doesn't overheat.

Thanks for the information. Mine is not overheating as well, curious why this behavior. When was the last time this happened to you?

Thanks for the info. I will have to check this. What's strange, I don't see any bottom leaks. Everything is dry

A few months ago.

Still smell the faintest coolant every now and then, but level remains fine.

Mine ended up being coolant loss from the oil cooler / oil filter housing
May I ask what year your Jeep? Can you give me more details on how you discovered that you resolved the issue

2020MY. The OFH has a known issue where the o-rings that keep the oil and coolant separate like to blow out and leak into the v of the block. My v was filled with oil so it was tough to tell if there was also coolant in there, but I did notice the coolant smell reduced significantly after I replaced the oil filter housing / cooler.

It's kind of a horrible job to replace.

Thank you for taking the time to send me this information. I’m hoping this will be an easy fix. I’ll continue monitoring the situation for a couple more days, but I definitely don’t want to start replacing parts without seeing any signs of a leak. I’m also considering taking my Jeep to the dealership to pay for a one‑hour diagnostic estimate.

Mine had a crack in the exhaust cooler (Didn't even know that was a thing till this) It was leaking into the exhaust and burning off. I was smelling coolant occasionally for months. Couldn't find any leaks so I had to take it to the dealer for them to find it.

How much did that set you back?
