Love seeing the Gladiator being used in ads.

Saw a Gladiator in a Nerdwallet commercial with a rather high dome tent in the bed.

Every “nerd” I’ve ever known was too frugal or careful with his/her money to splurge on something as boisterous as a Gladiator...

They should have used a Prius. Or maybe a Chevy Volt...

You’d be surprised at how much nerds like Jeeps. Nerds like constantly making things better. We can’t leave well enough alone. Upgrading a Jeep is a perfect outlet.

Then you don't know this nerd. :) Been a computer nerd since the early 80's. Very much into SciFi and Fantasy novels and movies. My Gladiator is named in homage to a British SciFi satire/spoof TV series.

Man does this sentiment get really old...can we eventually get over attaching stereotypes to vehicles? It isn't even funny anymore.

"Nerd" checking in here. My main hobby is building computers and playing video games. Been working in IT since I graduated college back in 2012, though these days I work in the training side of things surrounded by some of the coolest "nerds" you could possibly ever meet supporting some of the fastest vehicles mankind has ever constructed. One of my "nerd" coworkers I know has a collection of kit cars that a car lover could only ever dream of. Another "nerd" coworker I know used to have a procharged mustang that made over 700 horsepower. And many of my "nerd" coworkers drive jeep wranglers! It goes beyond just my coworkers too, I have other "nerd" friends that ride superbikes, own F350s with an 8 inch lift, the list just goes on and on and on...

So, I think you can leave your stereotypical idea of what a "nerd" likes to drive as just a fantasy :) I am sure many others will be happy to chime in as well.

That's a big part of why I finally got my gladiator. I am obsessed with tinkering and improving/upgrading things and my past 3 trucks haven't had enough aftermarket to satisfy my cravings, I went way too long missing the days when I had my focus ST or veloster turbo and lots of upgrades I could do to them. Its great finally having something that will get me back in the garage, its almost therapeutic (unless things refuse to go the way you need them to during installs...)

Relax. Nothing negative was meant.
Just a little tongue in cheek.
Mostly because the term nerd has evolved so much it’s almost impossible to define.
Glad you like your Gladiator. ?

Another “nerd” Gladiator owner here. I build networks that cover large sections of a state for a living, hence my forum name. Anybody that’s in the Cisco world will know what it is. I sold a ‘71 Corvette last year and still own a reasonably modified ‘84 Corvette (Heads, cam, different intake but kept the CFI throttle bodies). I’m also a “wannabe“ precision rifle shooter. Yes, I was in the chess club in high school and also played D&D……

Sound like my oldest, got into Rose-Hulman after scoring in the top 1/10 th of percent on the college entrance exam, President of the gun club, bought his first house so he could have a garage to work on his rally car, creates a data base for all big decisions.
