I've searched the forum but cannot find anything on this, but if it's been covered I'd appreciate some direction to that thread. I have a 22 Sport S Max Tow and when at low speeds such as in parking lots/ neighborhoods/ school pickup line, my Jeep exhibits a lurching sensation when my foot is barely on the pedal just keeping pace with the line in front of me, etc. Is this a transmission issue, accelerator tip-in issue, or what? Any help would be appreciated.

Auto? I have noticed the same thing, going slow almost at idle in the same scenario. Don’t know if it when I drop off the throttle or I get back on it. Like shifting between 1st and second. That shift point is seems like it is at a low rpm unless my foot is in it.

I have the same issue with both my 2020 Willys and 2018 Rubicon JL
It is most notifiable when moving slow and slightly turning the steering wheel. The RPMs will go up and down and the jeep will lurch or surge
The Rubicon is the worst and I have replaced the throttle body and the gas pedal thinking there was a dead spot in one or the other. Did not fix it
Just two weeks ago I installed a PSC Big Bore steering kit with the ram on my Willys
NO MORE SURGING AT ALL . The Willys is fixed
It must have something to do with the electric power steering pump. I think putting a heavy load on the alternator
There may be a software fix put I have not found one and I hate the dealer
One option is install the PSC power steering XD pump kit eliminating the electric power steering pump. Put its $1600
I may have to do this to the Rubicon

If the steering wheel isn't properly centered the computer will derate the throttle response. That's by design.

I've owned 3 '23's, two of them have this problem and even cut out briefly driving down the road. It acts like a communication problem between the pedal and throttle body. My dealership says there are no TSB's or new flash files for '23 Gladiators and no one else has mentioned the problem. I tried a throttle controller, but that just amplified it.

I am going with the brakes. When you are in stop and go traffic and push the brake then it will still stay on once you go back to the fuel. It is the hill assist . Go into settings under "hill start assist" turn it off until you need it. It works on the slightest incline on mine. That's my guess .

I also thought about a throttle controller. Thanks for letting me know that.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. Yes it is an automatic.

I figured it was an auto. I experienced the same thing. I got 87618 miles on mine so .. yeah well anyway. I was reading about it some where. It worked for me .
A throttle controller from "Banks" . I know they increase sensitivity. Some people have claimed to have dead spots in their throttles. I swear I have never experienced that ever lucky I guess. Good luck let me know what ya find out.

I think it is the shift point between 1st and second, maybe depending on throttle position. Likely set low to gain a very moderate MPG gain for fuel standards unless the throttle is applied. Wish I could re-program shift points.

23 here, does the same thing. Typically in 3rd/4th. Had Jeep reset the transmission 3 times. It’ll go away but comes back eventually. Learned to live with it for now.

Mine depends solely on RPM and throttle/pedal position. It's almost like the engine shuts off for a split second. I never really noticed it until I opened up the exhaust, now I can distinctively hear and feel it. Why exhaust would have anything to do with it, I don't know yet.
