I would guess the majority of the people saying no to limited slip don’t have limited slip diffs in their JTs.

Probably a safe guess. If you don't like limited slips, why would you have one in your JT?

It’s too bad Jeep doesn’t offer the option for a rear and front LSD (TruTrac) combo.
Or even a rear locker with true trac up front.

Hi, so far not real impressed with the Rubi in snow conditions. I deal with ice and hardpack and deep snow daily, all on road. I don't really need the locker as I'm a good enough driver in snow not to get into a position where it's needed.

Just not a confident feel driving this rig in snow. I've added weight to the bed and run Blizzaks but I am wondering if the models with an LSD would be better for the type of snow driving I do?

I'm sure the Rubi is great Off-Road but that's not me so feeling like I picked the wrong version here.
The last two Wranglers I've had were LSD rear and Aussie locker front. BFG KOs. Worked great in Midwest snow.

I don't really need people to tell me how great their Rubi is on snow. I don't feel stable. I have driven my brothers Sahara JLU with the factory LSD and it's a much more secure feeling.. Just to be sure it wasn't just the JLU vs Gladiator making a difference, I was able to trade my Gladiator with a buddy from work for 2 weeks who has a Rubi JLU and it felt mostly similar to my Gladiator. Granted there are now tire differences thrown into the mix but I would assume the same principle will apply on the Gladiators as did on the JLU's

Yes I could get there in the Rubis but I felt the LSD made the drive more secure and I felt more comfortable at higher speeds on the JLU.

Assuming the lingo for JL 4dr is JLU
Did your brothers JKU have the full time transfer case? I have that on the old XJ and its better in icy snow than my JT with locker rear. No lsd on either.

I believe I can get the full time 4WD and an lsd on other models
You know reading through some of the posts I wonder does the Rubi had stiffer springs than some of the other JTs? Wondering if that may also be a factor from the stability standpoint.

I’ve lived in Colorado for all of my 36 years. The only vehicle I’ve ever not felt comfortable in, in snow, is my current Ford Transit van. They will go sideways fast if you hit a bump or anything, they’re terrifying. Otherwise; LSD, locker, snow tires, didn’t matter. I drove Camaros for years as a winter DD and never had a problem a little momentum couldn’t get you around.
How the Mojave rate among them? I have a old XJ and Mojave. The Mojave can get unstuck better but Cherokee seems more relaxed at speed.

Zero issues in the Mojave and I feel very planted on the road. Better than any of the Camaros

I think many here are mistakenly equating this to off road situations. I never go off road. I am driving in hardpack and often deeper snow but always on the road.

I am going to order the Overland with LSD and outfit it with the Blizzaks and see how it goes.
LSD and Blizzaks what a trip! Seriously you should see a difference with lsd on icy snowy hwy conditions ... and x2 with the Blizzaks
