actually at the time when we purchased ours, they were knocking $10k off the nicely equipped Overlands as if they weren't popular. Jumped in with both feet at that price.
Oh heck yes

Overland doing jeep stuff. Mostly stock except for wider tires. A lift is going to be the next purchase. Used the skid plates a ton. Won't cure the horrible break over but will hopefully lessen the scraping.

Nothing like that around here - no trails, no rough areas (not that don't have no trespassing signs), It's Iowa.

3/4" spacers under mine, steel bumper and winch, A/T tires not quite as wide as the Rubicon Falken A/T tires to give me better winter/ice/snow/bad weather driving otherwise, mostly stock.

nice, dying to get out and do some wheeling with the Overland....Dickey Bell is on my list. Just had ours under the knife, we had Adam at RK install our 3" lift. Not building her to be a rock crawler per se but its good to know we have a half ass chance to get out of a sticky situation

Anyone have a side-by-side comparison of what one has over the other?
Most places, including some dealers, say the high altitude is based on the Sport S.
The descriptions I see are very much like Overland, in fact, some things are actually the same.

The high altitude package is the most "luxurious version of the Gladiator".
What "luxury" does the altitude have the Overland doesn't? OK, the pattern of the leather in the seats - mine are pretty "luxurious" to me. Don't need the cross-hatch pattern (or diamond if you prefer)
Larger wheels - like the Grand Cherokee.. ok, that says luxury.
Leather seats and dash? My overland had that? Large radio?
I have the 8.4 radio.
Color matching bumpers and door handles - that's not even an option on Overland so that's a big difference. Can't even order those.
I haven't yet found direct comparisons showing exact differences in equipment other than a few basic odds and ends like the pattern in the seat leather, wheel size, bumper and door handle matching colors.
Likely some is "standard equipment" where it's an option on the Overland - but ordering an Overland without those things - might as well buy a Sport!
So is it just appearance items - and the fact that the Overland options are standard on the HA?
If the seat pattern, larger wheels and body color bumpers and door handles are the main differences, I'm not seeing any radical differences.
I've seen some things online saying the High Altitude trim is built off of the Overland so maybe that is where people are getting it from. But that same logic would then say the Overland is built off of the Sport S and of course the Sport S is built off of the Sport. With that logic, all trims are built off of the sport. That may upset the Rubi folks when they find out they're driving a Rubicon Sport Max Tow.

In all fairness all trims are basically just a few options that may or may not be available on an another trim as standard equipment. From what I've seen from Jeep, the High Altitude comes with standard;
-20x8" wheels (not an option on JTO trim)
-only 5 paint colors for 2021, (Black, Granite, Billet Silver, Snazzberry, and white)
-color matched hardtop (JTO Option)
- full body color matched fenders, (only the the top of the fenders body color is a JTO Option (with black plastic bottom)
-Color matched bumpers, handles, & mirrors (not an option on JTO trim)
- Quilted leather trim seats (not a JTO option)
-Led exterior lights ( option on JTO trim)
-blind spot monitoring and park sense (option on the JTO trim)
-Auto transmission (option on the JTO trim)
-8.4" radio (option on JTO)
-Alpine sound system ( option on JTO)
-Auto dimming mirror (option on the JTO)
-Caramel interior stitching accents. (tan on the JTO)
-Proximity keyless entry (option on JTO)
-black accented grille (silver (bright) on JTO)

Otherwise it appears the same standard features and options are available on both. I'm pretty sure I could do the same for any trim like I said. I'm just not sure why HA owners say they have a Hight Altitude Overland.
actually at the time when we purchased ours, they were knocking $10k off the nicely equipped Overlands as if they weren't popular. Jumped in with both feet at that price.
This is why I chose my JTO vs a Rubicon. They were parked side by side at the dealership, same color, almost same options. Rubi was $10k more over sticker, but the dealership was running dealer discount of $5k on the JTO before rebates and incentives. It was a no brainer.

Didn't try Dicky bell seeing as I was dragging the skid plates over road humps. You should have no problem on Dicky bell with the 3 inch lift and those tires.

Nice. I wanted those wheels until my neighbor down the street put them on his gladiator. Now I’m looking for something else.

This is the second post I've seen in a few days with folks calling their High Altitude an Overland. I've also seen a few posts online where they're being called "High Altitude Overlands", but why? It's a completely different trim package.
all you have to do is look at my attached window sticker to see why this is a High Altitude Overland ...

They took the loaded Overland, added appearance items (and the wide axles of the max tow) and there you go.
Almost had to be because many of the options were available for the Overland but not the Sport and the Rubicon would have had to have gone backwards to get to the HA package.
They tweaked a fully loaded Overland and added things.
They didn't undo a Rubicon and take it backward by removing things.

Very happy with my Overland.

Too bad there's so little to do around here with a Jeep, and I have no need to haul anything large or heavy and I don't need to haul any cars for a month, so no more fun pictures of it for a while.
