Me and my husband both have a 2021 Gladiator, mine is a Mojave and his is a Willy's. not sure that makes a difference. He has a manual soft top on his and I have the hard top. Over the weekend, we switched tops. Whats the safest speed to drive with it all the way open but not off? I have a 40 minute commute to work and my speeds reach up to 70 but I do not want to mess it up. Thoughts? Advise? Should I just leave it off or closed unless its the weekend? Trying to let all the spring storms come and go before I take it all the way off.

Same. I’ve run between 70-80 mph for hours on some long flat stretches in The Plains and across Texas and never had an issue.

Hard or soft, is not an issue... With Jeep tops. They can handle sub 100 MPH driving. If from the factory.

They are wondering about driving with the top open, not closed. At 100mph, there would be a lot of wind buffeting.

My sunrider really whips at highway speeds when it's open.
The middle of the fabric whips up and down really really fast. I'd expect at some point, it could weaken the fabric as that's how you break nylon cords - bend them back and forth.

I need to find a way to secure it to keep it from flipping up and down like a fish's tail when it's out of water. I'm rather surprised their design doesn't somehow connect it to the cross bars.

The wind across the top of an OPEN roof - it's a sail up there. Makes me wonder on a full soft top.
Blow across the top surface of a piece of paper and it will lift, drop, lift, drop and so on.

A little trick I learned with my TJ years ago was to drive faster speeds with the HVAC on recirculation mode. It will suck in the sides and roof just a bit to where it will help prevent buffeting.

I use the elastic bands to keep the open top from flapping. However, the middle fabric of the top is beginning to catch more of the wind.

I've driven many miles with my soft top open. I just use the velcro straps that came with the Gladiator to keep it from lifting at speed and have had no issues in thee years. The only thing I noticed was a slight decrease in gas mileage.
