Midland Antenna (wind test)

has anyone mounted a midland bull bar antenna to the front bumper.. how does it do while driving highway speed (80ish).. ?

not sure you have the option if you have a tonneau cover but I run the Motobilt rear light bracket off the bed with a midland ditch light extension for the antenna and have no issues with wind at 80+

I've got the Highland™ Tall 6.6dB Bull bar antenna and the Bull Bar Folding Antenna Mount Works nicely. No whipping around even at 75. The spring base is very strong. Zero complaints. The folding base is nice too because it allows me to lay it down so it doesn't attract as much attention when I don't need it.

Thanks for the replies.
I currently have the whip antenna mounted just above the front fender (see attached). I purchased the Midland MXAT03 Bull Bar Antenna (28" long plus the mount) that will be "beefy'er" than the whip and the folding antenna mount. But im not sure where i can mount it. If i mount on the bull bar and lay it down, it might get in the way of my headlight. IF i leave it upright, im not sure it can hold up to 80+ mph

There’s a mount on the drivers side that uses the lower cowl bolts. Forget who makes it but looks pretty sturdy. That’s the one I want to use. Out of sight line too. Same antenna.

i like it! not sure how itll do with the bull bar antenna. also, i have a side mirror mount that uses 1 of those lower cowl screws.. makes me wonder if i need to find a different mirror option (when doors are off)

I havent tackled the doors off mirror setup yet. I’m going to want something a bit lower than normal so may have to do some nutserts into a body panel. I don’t need mirrors up high when on the trail.
