Yes, the same. It plugs into the rear of the 12 volt plug in the dash, then the original harness plugs into it. Gives you a fused extension to hook up to.

That's the route I took. The flush mount RJ45 connector makes installing/removing the mic so damn easy. Kicking myself for not buying the 575 but it just wasn't in the budget at the time.

That's a very clean install, especially with the capped plug for the mic. Thanks for the pics.

So I think most of my parts are now here. I added the external speaker to my install pile of goodies, but am debating where exactly to install it. I have a Ram track mount, but not sure I want the speaker sitting up there in the window all the time taking up window space. Any suggestions on locations for the speaker?

My CB is small enough that it fits in the glove box and I mounted the hand set as follows. Pretty easy to tuck away if you want to hide it all in the glove box.
