I see all these fancy custom bed separators and I don't have that kind of skill.

What I do have is a low tolerance for annoyances like straping down a propane tank so it can't roll around when going for a refill.

Alright, I'll bite - what's the rail system attached to the 2x8 and correlating tailgate cover?

Not the OP but.......those are Aluminum "L-Track". The tailgate plates you see WERE made by a company called SpecGate (offshoot of Terra Acoutiscs). Unfortunately, they are now defunct.

Thanks for your post. I'd purchased a 3 rail system from Amazon(L,R,F) but wasn't sure what I'd do with the front rail, as I also have a Bakflip tonneau cover and access to it is clumsy at best. This is an awesome application for the orphaned rail!

Thanks for the response T-Spud, that Specgate piece is sweet! - especially with the multi level attach points

Sorry, been working in the yard all day. It's a shame SpecGate is gone, it's a slick system that ads a lot.of utility.

I guess I'm olde, a propane tank fits nicely in an olde milk crate.

No rollin'.

Crickey, am I really that olde?

Yup, spelled old with an "E", I guess I yam.
I don't have a milk crate, or I would have done that. I still like being able to add a strap between the 2x8 and the tailgate for smaller things.

Am I the only one who uses it for its intended purpose of hauling 4x8 sheets? 😂
I use it for that too, I just kept it around because it's nice to keep small loads from rolling up to the front where they are hard to reach.

Yeah, but then I have to store an empty box. With this I just toss whatever in the back and run a strap around it that I keep under the seat.

The propane tank was the impetus, but not the only problem I'm trying to solve.

As we've discussed before, I'm using the milk crate now, for my tookus, as I detail a bike.

Krickey, I use them for everything, a step, and I store my straps, and bike tiedowns in one.

I might be classified as a MCH.

Is twenty two too too much?
