It is easy to open the stock hood vents up. I just used a dremel and cut the bottoms off of the vents. I did leave a small area intact to keep rain from just falling onto the air filter and computer area. That may change for stock engine and filter configurations. Also just cut the insulation away under the vents and lined it with some black Gorilla tape.

Looks good. I wouldn't worry about the ECM since the truck is rated to ford water about that high, and the engine bay gets wet driving in a rain storm anyways. If you're really concerned, dab a little Dielectric grease in the connections.

Style. Just like the scoop on the Mojave.

Unless the Mojave was really originally intended to have the 392. 🤣

Isn't that the same hood they used on the 392 Wranglers?

Seems adding a good scoop to direct the airflow could be used for an intercooler or to cool the intake manifold similar to a Ramair design at speed.

The Mojave and 392 share the steel scoop hood and higher cowl. I could be wrong but I think a NACA style duct more like the Rubicon "vents" might make cooling more gooder though.

With all the R&D that had to go into the 392's super fancy scoop intake it makes me think the Mojave was originally intended to get the 392 as an option from the factory. Otherwise there is zero purpose except style.
