Honestly, I don't know. I only use the GMRS when I'm wheeling. Is there any use for a GMRS outside of closed events like Jeep clubs? Are GMRS radios being used by the general public like CB?

I bought the mopar soft tri-fold as it was the only local one in stock and I needed one to keep bed dry but really want the mopar soft one for all the reasons you state and your posts are making me look more into selling mine and getting the rolling one!the mopar hard trifold does fold up but is unsupported when folded all the way up...it literally sites against the back glass of the hard top...and would flop right down if you started to move. So essentially you loose that entire third of the bed sire its unable to stay up all the time. If I remember right the backflip has little bars on either side that hold it verticle when opened all the way. Mopar shat the bed with their design IMO, but the soft rolling is superior to all other as far as I'm concerned. Stays tight, more water proof than the hard, and rolls completely out of the way. Also does need any track or silly velcro to be used.
Yep. There is an active GMRS repeater in my area people regularly jump on, many areas have those. If you are not into chatter it still is a good backup communication method if nothing else.Is there any use for a GMRS outside of closed events like Jeep clubs? Honestly having lived in Ohio and hitting one or two Ice Storms in the south, that really is a good idea to do overall. Mopar one wouldn't have stood a chance fitting over the doors and top though. If you needed to get out in an emergent situation your car would have been ready to go. I have had door handles frozen, windows completely iced like running the car for 30 minutes type thing didn't even fix.I just used my rain gear top during the ice storm we had here in texas. I guess I probably didn't need to put it on but I figured what the hell I had it and would use it. Don't know if it would have hurt the soft top or not but I had about an inch of ice built up on my jeep but when I pulled the rain gear cover off it was like nothing had even touched the cab of the jeep. now I have to figure out how to get it back in the bag
yes, I'm sure it will go something like for me also....Absolutely mate ... these are the justifications that I use to convince the Minister of Finance!
"Awe babe, I have the tyres now, but the Jeep power sucks now" ...
Well this last one was nasty. It was just so much freezing rain. But yep certainly after using it feel that it did what it was supposed to do. Like you said if I would have needed to I could have pulled the top off quickly and had access to the truck no problemsHonestly having lived in Ohio and hitting one or two Ice Storms in the south, that really is a good idea to do overall. I second this, bought the sun bonnet, took my top off one time and hated the flap...it would be ok with two straps centered in the rear that can strap down TIGHT to the bed, but as is, was not worth the money and I have no intentions of using it again...of course I am also about to install my Gobi Stealth rack, so limited to removing the freedom panels only since the Gobi won't pivot far enough back with my bed rack installed too.Mopar Sun Bonnet. It comes up snapped and flaps. I recently got a Bestop Safari top. I had one on my JKU and it was great, so I'm hoping for a similar experience with the JT version.
I'm thinking about getting the Bestop rain top for pop-up thunderstorms in the summers (so I don't have to watch the weather so closely and re-top once a week). Anyone have experience with that?

This. There are cheaper ones that velcro up there that are 1,000% less annoying and they work exactly the same.Mopar grab handles. Hate them. They flip and hit the window everytime you hit a bump. Very annoying. Going take the off the next time I have the top off.
Does the single not suit your needs? I was about to click "buy" on a single....I regret buying the ARB single compressor, wish I would have bought the double.
I added a bedrug impact liner to my JT. It's not that it is a bad product per-se. I just should have read up on it more. I don't like the velcro attachment mechanism. I also don't like that neither the bed nor the tailgate feel stabile enough to place a drink on.
It works fine and the duty cycle is good, just doesn't air up as fast as I would like.Does the single not suit your needs? I was about to click "buy" on a single....
