I am thinking of pulling the trigger and getting the color matched hardtop. Would it look “odd” if I don’t have the body colored fender flairs? The beauty of a Jeep, there really is no wrong way ( some caveat apply) ?.

I definitely like the color match but I think it needs the fenders. Just my opinion.

I did the color hardtop with the black fenders---the colored fenders just look weird to me on a jeep.

I think that’s a good look. The color matched top rounds everything out nicely with either fender option.

Lol pretty much! The Mojito green JLU just sold but the rest are still here. The yellow LJ has been getting refreshed this winter and will be ready for spring.

Hello! I have been the proud owner of a Mojave for almost a year. I am ready to rip the bumper off! Lol.

1. For those of you that have swapped out the bumper, for a steel one, have you noticed a change at all in the way it drives with the added weight? I am looking at some type of short steel bumper.

2. For those that live in the snow, would I be better served to spend the extra money for an aluminum one instead? I hear conflicting reports about the "rust factor", being an issue.

Any tips, or insight is greatly appreciated!!! We just moved to Colorado and new to this snow stuff. Lol

Regarding the weight, the steel is obviously heavier, but I would be surprised if you could tell a noticeable difference by the "feel" of the added weight when you drive it. I would say most short or stubby aftermarket bumpers are heavier than the stock steel bumper because they're usually built with thicker steel, etc. I replaced the plastic front bumper on my '18 JLUR with a stubby steel aftermarket bumper, and I added a winch. I honestly couldn't tell a difference.

Regarding snow, we get some of that here in north TX. That's the white stuff we freak out about and stock up on milk and bread for 2 weeks for something that lasts maybe a day here. It gets below 50 degrees here and they send the salt trucks out.
