Hey everyone! I am just popping in to get some advice. I have my wheel and tire combo, but after doing a bit of math, I am concerned about weight.

I ordered my wheels, AEV Borah, which weigh 33 lbs (without protection ring?).

I have the shop getting in 37" Falken Wildpeaks, which weigh 82 lbs!

These combined, I am looking at 115 lbs at each corner on 37s.

Is that pushing it on the stock 4.10s? Both the wheels and tires I choose are heavier than average. I don't plan on doing anything else to the Gladiator until winter. Which means not swapping gears (if I ever do) until November/ December.

Would it be wise to swap to 37" Ko2s (Load C) to drop the weight to 96 lbs per corner?

Or just go with it?

Extra info: The Gladiator is my daily, not my offroad rig. I drive 6 miles to work on a boring, flat road with a 40 mph speed limit. I don't beat it unless there's snow. Not swapping gears any time soon, if ever.

Keep in mind it not just the weight that is the problem, the diameter will make a difference also. You will definitely take a hit in fuel mileage with that combo and dropping the weight will not help that much

Right. The weight will be pushed out to 37". Well, in theory. Neither tire is actually 37. Ko2, from what I understand, is actually like 35.5". Combined with the lighter weight, it sounds like it makes a difference.

I am less worried about gas mileage. My TJ was in single digits probably and daily drove that for 8 years.

I am most worried about destroying things and sluggishness. I expect it to be more sluggish, but NOT miserable.

Its been nearly a month since the Gladiator saw over 50mph.

My personal opinion is that 37" tires are foolish for just appearance sake. I run 35" with 2" lift and prefer the look. With that said you should be fine as long as you are using something like a tazer to correct speedo. From what I've read and noticed just going to 35s affects higher gears 6th 7th and 8th and with your type of driving you may not notice.

I feel as though 37s fill out the Gladiator perfectly. Just a personal preference when it comes to look.

I have a manual. I rarely see 6th gear as it is. Haha.

Thanks for the input! I do plan to correct the speed!
Shift points are irrelevant thanks to being a manual, though.

Ordered our Gladiator in February and just picked it up last week. We headed out to Anza-Borrego for our first trip. Got lost when the wash ended, ran into some friendly Jeep people and made it out!

We loved the experience, looking forward to getting out there and learning more. Thank you all for the help!

Ordered my Sting Gray in Feb., picked up 5 weeks later on March 31! Traded in a 2014 JKU and a 2016 Suburban…hoping the Gladiator will be the best of both worlds. Haven’t been disappointed so far.

Added a @Bestop Sunrider, RR Armis tri-fold tonneau, sill protectors and a stubby antenna. Also have a S&B CAI on the way.

Got a few 35’s in mind, but was really impressed how large the stock Mojave 33’s look in person. And the drive is so much better than my JKU was!

Been following this forum for a while now. Thanks for all the great ideas!
