Mojave front axle not engaging

Mojave with 8 speed automatic transmission. Shifts clean into 4hi and 4lo but front axle does not engage. Rear locker activates fine and no funny lights. Wondering if anyone has had similar issues?

Just curious, how are you verifying it isn’t engaging? Is someone watching the front driveshaft or something?

That’s correct. Suspicion came when I failed to get up a Rocky section on trail. Wittinesses said zero front wheel spin. Tested at home with same results

Un plug FAD, do you get a fault of some kind?
Does Lo seem like it is in low?

I was thinking of unplugging and checking the pins for damage. No lights of any kind. Both hi and low shift smoothly but don’t activate the front axle. Rear locker works as it should. Display indicates 4wd is active when engaged

You missed the purpose of 81Mojave's question. Does the 2.72:1 gear reduction kick in when you're in 4lo? In other words, does your 4lo become 2lo?

Sounds like your truck is probably new enough where this isn't your problem.

Oh copy, yes low range is normal in the rear

I’ll finally get a chance to do a good inspection this week. I’ll post updates is something is found

Update: finally got it to the dealer. Diagnosed with a defective drivetrain control module. Parts on order with an estimated completion Friday 6/24/22.
