Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be more economical to add a front locker and manual sway bar disconnects to a Mojave than it would be to upgrade a Rubicon's suspension to match the Mojave's? I've also read in several places that the manual disconnects give you a little more articulation than the e-disconnects.
I like that the Rubicon lockers and disconnect are covered under warranty, and you can get as good of a suspension/set-up (or better) than the Mohave through upgrades.

It just depends on how much you want to spend and if you plan on upgrades or plan on running it stock (which plenty of people do). Mohave set up seems nice stock, but depending on what you want to do with it, there are still plenty of better suspension upgrades you could make to it.

Despite the dude who is going to post a pic after this post, if you really want to rock crawl don’t get a Gladiator. The departure angle and break over angle is bad. The basic concept of a Gladiator lends itself more to a Mojave. Disconnect sway bar before the trail starts and add a front Locker if you think you really need. The only thing that is harder to change is the transfer case. When I had my Rubi I never started in first gear in 4Lo because it was too low. Bye bye Rubi.

I just unloaded my JLUR for a '21 JTM. I drove the JT Rubi immediately before and after I drove the Mojave. I though the ride in the Mojave was better (less lateral body roll). I'm not a big off-roader, but like to have the capability to do it when I'm up in the mountains on fly fishing trips and skiing. The Mojave just fit my needs better. Whatever choice you go with, it's a win.

I recently bought my 2020 Mojave and I love it. It’s perfect for me. I love the suspension. It drives like a trophy truck! I live in New England so no deserts here but this thing handles the windy pothole ridden roads like a champ. People who get in my truck are amazed at how it handles. Not saying you couldn’t do the same with a rubicon but this thing was at the right price the right time and I love it.

Rubicon vs. Mojave: The most basic question:

Where can I find a list or description of exactly what is different between the two?

Not the basic Front Locker vs. Suspension, seat and steering wheel, but more detail on different “reinforced” components and underbody protection (if any). I’ve ingested too much conflicting information. Thanks!

I drive through trails and on the beach at slow speeds so I didn't need the suspension of the Mojave but wanted the front locker and sway bar disconnect. Rubicon in my driveway also.

Do some searching there are lists of the differences between Rubicon and Mojave.

I love my Mojave, but I don’t see rock crawling in my future (live in KS) and don’t plan to heavily modify it. I plan to install the AEV spacer lift that retains the Mojave shocks and 35” tires, that’s it. Most of my driving is on road and gravel which is where the Mojave really shines. If you want a serious lift it’s silly to spend big money to get the Mojave suspension and then toss it in the trash. Instead you can lift a Rubicon and make it ride like a Mojave by investing in a quality ($$$) suspension package and also take advantage of the other Rubicon off road goodies.

Mojave has steel knuckles, Rubicon has aluminum knuckles. That's the only fact I have.
