I am hoping to install a Mopar Steel Bumper and front skid plate on my Sport S (yes, Max Tow). I like to make sure I have everything set, so I've been watching some Youtube vids and going over diagrams. The buy was a private sale from a 2020 JL and I should be getting it this weekend. As such, I'm doing prep-work. Is it a simple install, just take off the plastic bumper and put on the steel in its place? Aside from connecting the wiring harness, that is.
TrailRecon did a good vid on his wife's 2018 JL Sahara. I noticed the cross-member at 5:55. He said it caused some complications in installing the steel bumper.
and in Quadratec's video at 2:05
and in this vid at 4:17
I don't see it ins some other Jeep JL/JT bumper videos
At 11:12 here
But @WXman did a good video on another bumper install and I see the part at 8:12
I checked out the parts diagrams for the Sport S and Rubicon and don't see the cross-member in the first vids.

The diagrams were the same for the Rubicon

Nor can I find it in the 2019 JL Factory Service Manual. In fact, the FSM says to remove the splash guard/wheel housing first.
I did come across this thread

So, for those who have installed the Mopar Steel Bumper on non-Rubicon trims, will there be a problem? Will I need the rivet inserts that TrailRecon discussed? Any different brackets?
The instructions for the bumper do mention the cross piece, but nothing on brackets

The instructions for the skid plate have brackets

However, Jeep parts websites show the bracket not fitting the JT?
