That is a good idea, but i do not know of a truck scale in my area. That 297lbs might be for the complete plow assembly. I will ask the dealer when it is installed
Most recycle centers that handle metal scrap recycling also usually have a scale for vehicles if that might be an option.
Will look forward to the pictures when you get it back from the install.

Here are some pics of my plow. This is plenty of plow for me since i only do a few driveways. I'm happy with the installation. The dealer did not know the weight of the undercarriage, but he said well under 100lbs

Stock wheel well height - 37 7/8"
Plus undercarriage - 37 5/8"*
With plow - 36 1/4"
* i bet with the receivers removed - 37 3/4"

Way better better than a hitch mount.

Thanks for the all the detailed info & pix.

What are the part numbers for the undercarriage mount framework, and the receivers they used?

I had gone to the Western web page for the Defender series plow, and their "Quick Match" application guide for the mount parts is not updated, and does not list anything currently available to fit any of the Gladiator models.

By Pennants, do you mean the little flags on top of the markers? i specifically asked not to have them, keeping with my plain jane. :)

The first page in quick match does say that, but fill in what you can and keep clicking "next". i bought the 7'2" Defender. The last box shows the part numbers

But then you the snow flap?

I'm teasing. My factory set did a few seasons and then got replaced with 36" hi-viz sticks.

I keep telling myself I'll replace them... it never happens.

The install looks good though. You are going to have to remove the frame members if you want approach clearence back.

:) I'll remove the 2 receivers when i'm done plowing, it's only 2 pins each side and they do stick out a little. i dont do any off-roading, but i will gain some ground clearance and the crossmember will look cleaner tucked in underneath

The ultramount, essentially a bigger boy version of your mount, the "shoes" come off with 2 pins but the cross member still takes up space. But as you say, if you aren't concerned about giving up the space the issue is moot. For me "most" of my wheeling with the 35s on means the crossmember is now too high for most things to catch, dig or drag. It still gets dinged from time to time but the shoes are a must remove item.

Nice rig, nice plow, it looks good with the 35s! I think the Gladiators look so much better with 35s, but then i'd have other things to contend with - my wife has a hard time getting in with 33s. :) Did you add air boots or stiffen up the front suspension to deal with a heavier plow?
i would still consider adding the air boots when they come available for my JT, even though the front end only drops about 1 1/2 with the plow raised.

My suspension is a bit bastard, rancho 5000 2" shock and spring lift and 2" puck lift. With the plow on I drop about an inch or so. With the stock rubi suspension it sagged a bit, closer to 2"-3".

I plowed with my '97 TJ for 25 years with a Meyer TMP 6.5 which weighed 485lbs. Why cant the Gladiator handle a larger plow?
