Not liking the 'ducks' is like someone not liking a manufacture, a certain product, an aesthetic mod, etc. It's not a personal attack on those who love the ducks, its just an opinion on something they don't care to see on their Jeeps.

For example, I put product decals on my Jeep and many voiced their opinion on how they don't like it and that's totally fine. I don't find any offense in it and will continue to put decals on my Jeep anyway lol. Having said that, I appreciate ALL Jeep owners ducks or not and just because I don't personally like the ducks doesn't mean I don't like the owner. Peace out
HOWEVER, that's not where they leave it - at "not liking". Ducks get their blood boiling and then start accusing those who go with the ducking thing of other things and trying to make parallels to other things.
Just say "I don't do it and don't care to participate" and leave it at that instead of blasting those who do as being perverts or whatever.

Which even though I have a huge disdain for the practice buying them for yourself is like trying to make it look like someone likes them . People are desperate for attention.
It's like that really weird thing where a significant number of people who are talking on the phone in public are not actually talking to anybody, but pretending.

also not a duck person but this is a great example of the joy of jeeps. there is a market for almost any accessory you can think up on a jeep. too bad its mopar and not someone independent that came up with the idea.

In fairness, as an old fart who has owned two new Glads inside a year, but new to the whole thing, the whole dash-covered-in-ducks thing is sorta creepy.

On the Harley forums, we argue about oil.

Oil in the engine, or on the ground under it?

Ancient history, ever since the introduction of kevlar belt final drive in the early 80’s, and the retirement of the shovelhead.

I’ve modded gun forums, been asked to mod Ford performance forums, SVT Cobras in particular, owned big VTwins for many years…

Seen many ridiculous arguments over many ridiculous topics, but the raging duck debate is, well, ridiculous.

I’ll show myself out of this debate.

Along the same lines, the Jeep Wave. Since they tried to appropriate the round headlights, be sure you don't wave a bronco or a Rivian in the dark, that's like a motorcycle waving a scooter by mistake

Aw heck, I wave at a liquor cycle when I’m riding two wheels.

Between my wife's Wrangler and my Gladiator, we've got 6 or 7 while out of town. And a few locally. Most we've given away to other Jeeps. We did give one to out 18 month old granddaughter.
I got 2 at once, came out from a hardware store at the beach, 1 on the door handle, 1 on the side step. Gave both away eventually. The only one I've kept, was the ninja duck. It resides on the dash, in the little funky shaped cut out.

While it's not really my thing, I think it's harmless. If you enjoy it, why not then. If you duck mine, know I'll appreciate it, and that I'll pass it on.
I'll admit, it does make me smile a bit. But I'm easily amused.

Every human is a unique individual.
How many others do you know that think like you?
I conform to my own wishes.
If I wave & another jeep driver that does NOT, I just assume that driver has other priorities at the moment.
I dealt with similar attitudes decades ago when I rode motorcycles everywhere.
Rude fools would criticize what I rode because it did not fit their notion of what a motorcycle should be.
Some of those same rude fools now drive Jeeps.

I just avoid those folks & seek better ones....................
I had similar experiences back in my crotch rocket days. I'd wave at anything on 2 wheels, still do.

As far as the Jeep wave goes, back in my CJ days, the Jeep wave was definitely more prevalent. But most Jeepers back then, were born Jeepers. Not like today, were more come into the Jeep fold later in life.
I usually wave at all the Jeeps, regardless of mods, etc. If I don't wave, don't mind me. It's probably cause I'm too busy focusing on your Jeep, trying to check it out.

Regardless on average, most women will not wave especially back to a man.
Around here, it almost seems like more women wave at me.

There isnt a single oil thread in this entire forum 🤥🤭 hmm how strange . You would figure they would be arguing over wether to buy another Harley T-shirt on Bike night at the local Hardly Davidson dealership.

Jeep is the new Harley. People decorate their "rigs" like Harley owners decorate their "hawgs". They peacock around with "look at me" led lights and bolt on do dads like Harley owners that constantly rev their motors and look around to see who's noticing how cool they are.

That's my perception anyways 🤪

I'll wait till someone gives me theirs. Would actually be a nice one to find on the Jeep in a parking lot.
