What button does One push if they start to get some trailer sway?
Your phone will have an app, or you can buy a button to mount anywhere with no wiring.

I still like my built-in look and operation. It's always there, always ready. Connect and drive away.
It's whatever works for you. Your choice, your truck, your decision.

I'm personally not a fan of something relying on a wireless signal to do manual braking or having to use my phone for yet ANOTHER app. I know they all have pros and cons - but I want my controller in the truck and that button right there and also really easy to adjust as there's been times I've had it fine for pavement then I get into gravel and have to quickly turn the power down - just turn that dial and stop sliding the wheels (note mine is on 2 now - as I hit gravel and had to quickly dial it back, it's normally at 4 to 5 for mine)
I couldn't do such a quick change with an app..........

I do get that, but conversely, If I did not have this app, I would not have so easily seen that the JT brake pedal was not connected to the 7 Pin wiring harness when fuse 109 blew.

So for me, the App prevented a much bigger issue, and I had zero issues using it to manually brake the trailer.

So there are pro's and cons

Without reading through 33 pages as I dont know if this has been covered. But between the Two Pro redarc and this mopar controller. What is the benefit of the Mopar one over the Redarc? If i read a couple of posts correctly we would not be able to install current dead pedals with the mopar unit?
You can install dead pedals.....see my post with pics in this tread.

ā€˜20 Jeep Gladiator Overland, ā€˜17 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, ā€˜73 Porsche 914-6 GT,
Just adding to the chaos that is the Mopar product. Finally obtained one. I tie-wrapped that bad boy to the frame just above the kick panel.
Did not feel like bolting a 2oz. Piece of plastic.
Where the instructions say to place, well good on ya if you contorted your way in.
After securing ,added the harnesses. Drilled a hole in the plastic of left dash just below speaker grill like others have. This way i retained the auxiliary plug. My only issue was the inconvenience of getting the ABS module flash from dealer to cure the dash lites yelling at me.
Done & done.

Reviving a zombie post here. Read about 5 pages and gave up.

Anyone know if it works with a MANUAL transmission? Looking at MOPAR 82215652AB which was replaced with same number but AD.

Thx

Yup. Have one on mine and no issues at all. That said, they will tell you it doesn't work, but it does. The only thing is that it does not mount where they want you to put it because the clutch assembly is in the way. I think I just zip tied mine to the crossbar.

To clarify, do you have the AB or AD?

Mopar Introduces New Factory-backed Trailer Brake Controller for JeepĀ® Gladiator

October 13, 2020 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Mopar, FCA’s service, parts and customer-care brand, is enhancing the towing experience of the JeepĀ® Gladiator with the release of a new trailer brake controller.

The new Mopar trailer brake controller will give Jeep Gladiator owners the ability to activate the electronic brakes on properly equipped trailers. Independent from the truck’s brakes, the additional trailer brake control allows for greater stopping power when needed, such as on downhill grades, while helping to minimize wear and tear on both the trailer and vehicle. The amount of brake force on the trailer may be customized depending on load requirements.

ā€œAt Mopar, we continue to expand our comprehensive Jeep portfolio, which includes more than 500 factory-backed, quality-tested parts and accessories,ā€ said Mark Bosanac, Head of Mopar Service, Parts and Customer Care, FCA – North America. ā€œOur new trailer brake controller improves Jeep Gladiator’s braking efficiency and maximizes safety when towing.ā€

The new trailer brake controller is easily integrated into the Jeep Gladiator’s instrument panel. Installed in front of the transmission shift lever, the round controller knob provides a consistent look and feel with the vehicle’s interior. The new controller may also be retrofitted into Jeep Gladiators that are already on the road.

Available for purchase as a stand-alone part in the U.S. and Canada, the new Mopar trailer brake controller has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $299. The standard Mopar factory-backed warranty coverage includes two years/unlimited miles from date of purchase or up to the remainder of the new-vehicle’s warranty of three years/36,000 miles.

I paid a lot less for my Tekonsha. I’ve used in my 3 previous Ram 1500’s, then my ’13 unlimited, ā€˜21 Gladiator, now my ā€˜23 Gladiator.
ā€˜getting to the Ram connection (buried under dash on drivers side) was not as easy as the ā€˜23 gladiator (left side under dash)
