Motobilt Bobbed Bed

Finally got around getting the bed swapped out. I like the way it looks and the departure angle. I know a lot of people don’t like it, but that is fine. It’s a Jeep and they are all different.

Looks great! I was thinking about doing this to my JT but I need the tow capabilities which they don’t offer. I don’t want to pay someone to make a custom bumper with the trailer hitch. Couple questions.
1. What size are those tires?
2. do you plan on keeping a spare and where?

I too am awaiting the longer bed option for towing. My issue with it and most aftermarket offerings is the no flare / lack of flare tire hanging out of the side look. While it looks cool it isn't legal in the peoples state of Massachusetts. Why can't we get bolt on extensions or real world legal tire coverage? Think about it, even Utah states that the tire needs to be covered over road when you go to Moab! 2-4 3/8" bolts holding a flare on the side for on road while a clean look while removed is all I am looking for! Maybe I will have to design my own..........

They do offer a hitch for the bobbed bed so you can tow with it. Also a tire carrier option is about to come out too. You can see one on the diesel Grey JT on the IG page.

Why would you lose towing? They have a hitch for the bed.

To answer a few questions.

So they do offer a hitch for this bumper. It an extra add on.

I have a spare tire carrier that I need to install in the bed.

The wheels are 37”. And then now seem small. My wife is going to kill me because 40s are next.

Sold my old bed for 60% the cost of this kit.

Don't think that was me, but I measured my garage before I got my JT and knew it wouldn't fit. But I'd kept my JKU before chopping my bed.
I do miss the 7ft bed in my old ford ranger 2DR. hahaha

That being said, I love having the garage space to work on our bikes.

You are right, 37s look small on it! I’d like to be a fly on the wall when you tell your wife what the price tag will be on 40s! I’d probably leave out a detail or two, like the axel upgrades needed... ?
