Problem is you cannot control what gets it or not. Could be your or a neighbors dog. Your choice just be aware of what could happen.
Come to think of it, I haven't been seeing the neighbor's cat since early spring.
It's 70 acres here, and I can't see a neighbor. I don't have any dogs or cats, and they should control theirs.

The foxes of late have been keeping the local free range kittys in check in my area much to the chagrin of a few cat lady Karens

Awesome. I used to get a neighbors cat that would jump up on my hood to stay warm in the winter. Fucker scratched up my hood. Good thing I never caught him cause he'd be a goner.

I am not anti-cat by any means but believe they should be controlled as any other pet and not free ranging about.

I was surprised on the cat thing and foxes until I seen one get taken down a couple years back by a fox. In talking with one of our local state wildlife resources officers, he told me foxes are way underestimate on what kind of game they will take on for hunting. They will take on raccoons, house cats, small dogs and not even blink about it.

My brother had to leave his car in storage while he was deployed. He started by putting it up on jack stands so it wouldn't flat-spot the tires and also to deter climbing rodents. He spent the next several months collecting all the dog hair from his German Sheppard, which he spread around the corners of the garage and all under the car. Rodents tend to avoid the smells of their predators, so the dog hair acted as a deterrent.

When he came back, a bunch of guys in his unit had chewed wiring in their cars, his car was free of any damage and had no rat's nests in any of the usual spots.
