MT and MT. And by that, I mean, manual transmission and Mud tires. As noted above, the MT’s will be easier to sell to someone upgrading.

I can't comment on the Falken MTs but I have the 35" version of the Falken Wildpeak AT3W on my JLU. It's an incredibly good tire and even has a 60K warranty on it. I've taken it off road, here in Colorado, and through A LOT of snow. Of course I've also been on road in rain and snow. It's surprisingly good. It also has a pretty comfortable ride on my 17x9 wheels at 34psi. Off road I usually go down to 24psi for a decent ride on trails.

Had 35" BFG KM2s on my JKR originally and missed them once I "upgraded" to 37" BFG KO2s. The KO2s look fantastic and are great on the road, but I actually plan on offroading my JTR regularly and through my experience, they perform terribly compared to MTs offroad. Obviously, the MTs should perform better in mud than ATs, but I hate offroading with these KO2s. I always find myself going through mud more cautiously and second guessing if I'll make it through or not, while in the past with the KM2s I just powered through mud with confidence. I've been stuck in pretty pathetic conditions thanks to the KO2s, especially over in Georgia where I would find myself driving sideways narrowly dodging trees in those dense muddy forests, while my friend with MTs just drove circles around me. These experiences alone have convinced me to always go with MTs on my dedicated 4x4 vehicles from now on, and if you see yourself getting into mud in the future, my personal advice would be to just go with the MTs since there's no price increase at all. Yea ATs are quieter and are typically lighter, but I've never really understood why sacrificing capability is better to some, when what you're gaining are just some creature comforts. But I understand not everyone wants to 4x4 their vehicle.

I have KM2s on my ZJ and they suck! I don’t hit any deer because they can hear me coming from the next county. They have 60% tread left and I’m going to swap them anyway. They make a KO2 in the 33x10.5r15 now so I’m going with them. My plan is to go 35x15 on the LE when it finally shows up.
Better do your homework. If the JTs are anything like the JLs, a 15" wheel will not work hence your 33x10.5x15 tires won't either.

3 days and a couple hundred miles the MTs are quiet... The Nitto ATs on my Rebel i just traded in were louder on the road.

Would you mind making another another thread on your initial impressions on your new gladiator? I'm dying to know but don't want to hijack this thread :please:

How much more do you think they are worth with the MT's? I bought a pre-spec that I am waiting to get here this week and have already purchased 35" Nitto RG's. I will prob keep the stock wheels for now, unless makes more sense to sell as a pair right away.
Not sure but the market is already flooded with Jeep wheels and brand new factory at's........you know what they say about supply and demand!

Very true, maybe it would be smarter to negotiate something with my dealer and upgrade my wheels. Are there any hard requirements I should be aware of on wheels to keep my towing capabilities?

Not sure.....reports are that the Gladiator wheels are a heavier duty casting than the jl wheels for towing/payload capacity purposes. Bot sure how that translates to aftermarket wheels. I havent ever really read about weight capacity on aftermarket wheels.

It funny for all the complaining about the KM2 being crap and loud, I'm on my second set and I find they are wonderful in the slop and if you air down to conditions they do great as an off road tire in dry or rock. I can also say that with the right about of inflation they do great in snow but its a hunt to match inflation pressure and conditions but I was never let down by them plowing. Are they better than a dedicated snow tire, no not by any means but where I am we don't have snow around long enough to justify a set of real snow tires.

That said, if you know that most of your rigs life will be on improved surfaces then the all terrain tires will likely do you the best good overall and if you are very sure its mostly going to be towing and hauling on hard surfaces then take a solid look at LT tires and keep a set of beater off roads on other rims for the odd off road journey. Better yet, invest in a stud gun and make your own wicked conditions tires.

I have no intention of running 33x10.5x15 on my JT that was a typo, they are on my 93 Grand Cherokee and I hate them. When I got them they were the only tire available in that size but now they make a KO2 also. I plan to run 35s or 37s with stock rims on the JT.

Makes sense. Will look great with 35s but even better with 37s. Can't wait to see it. Has your dealer given you any updates as to when your LE JT might arrive?
