I went to have my new wheels installed at Discount Tire and got a call to come back after about a half hour. The service manager wanted to show me that the new wheel would not push all the way up flush to the rotor face. It would start and get part way but would need little more pressure to get it to sit flush and he didn't want to simply tighten it down with the lug nuts. Maybe never get it to come off again. The bore is just a bit small or maybe the exact same size (71.5mm). The Jeep's hub surface was clean. They only tried one wheel and it wasn't mounted to the tire yet as they were just doing a test fit.
I contacted RockTrix but will have to wait till Monday for a reply. Unfortunately that one wheel was scratched a bit on the inside so they probably won't take that one back which is fine.
The service manager said it's so close, perhaps I could take a Dremel tool with a sanding cylinder and sand a little off the opening. Or I could take it to a custom wheel place to have the opening opened up more, but not sure how much that would cost.

Weird side note: I am running hubcentric wheel spacers for the stock wheels I am running and the new wheels fit over the spacer just fine. Unfortunately, it would be poking out waaay to much with them. The new wheels have a -12mm offset.

Regular side note: I really like the wheels.

Thoughts?

take em to a local machine shop. they can mill down the hub spacing to fit. just tell em the hub size and they'll do it for about 20-40 bucks a wheel.

Was thinking that as one of my options. I sent an email to a local shop here in town over the weekend. I'll wait to hear back from RockTrix today. Discount Tire actually mounted one wheel and took the tire back off to show me the problem. Most companies won't take a return if a tire has been mounted. Discount Tire should have done a test fit prior. There are tags saying to do so on each wheel.

yeah. i hear ya on that. Then again if you got your wheels through amazon (only place I've seen sell RockTrix) they'd be the most likely to not question taking em back.

oh well thats a bit harder to swing. I'd ask Discount to compensate you for that wheel if you have to send it back.

YEP! I just left the tire shop with the exact same problem. RT105 bore was a hair too small and would not mount to my 2022 Gladiator Sport S. Sending the wheels bak to them now. It sounds like they got an out-of-spec batch or something. I'm going to send them a link to this thread.

They sent me pre-paid FedEx labels and I sent them back this week. They should get them on Monday. They are going to wait until my old ones are delivered and want to check them as well.
They've been pretty good with communication thru email, just wish I could talk to them. They said that they used some jeep wheel spacers on the ones they have in stock and the wheels fit on the spacer just fine.
Coincidentally, the wheels fit fine on the wheel spacers I have on mine with the OEM Jeep wheels too! But won't slide over the wheel hub when the spacers are off.
I asked them to try their wheels on a JL or JT without wheel spacers to see if they'll fit over the hub. That's the true test. We'll see...

I just got my labels to send my wheels back as well. RockTrix has been really prompt with their customer service with me as well. I'm just glad to hear that someone else ran into the issue. I was starting to think that something was wrong with my hubs. Let me know what you find out and I'll do the same.

I will, thanks. I was starting to think the same thing, mine's a '21. Yours being a year newer makes me think its not just me. I had to wait for a new batch of wheels to come in before getting mine. Maybe hearing from someone else with the same issue will help my situation.

Discount Tire offered to wave the install fee ($45 ea) if I bought the new wheel. We'll see what happens with RockTrix
