I went to have my new wheels installed at Discount Tire and got a call to come back after about a half hour. The service manager wanted to show me that the new wheel would not push all the way up flush to the rotor face. It would start and get part way but would need little more pressure to get it to sit flush and he didn't want to simply tighten it down with the lug nuts. Maybe never get it to come off again. The bore is just a bit small or maybe the exact same size (71.5mm). The Jeep's hub surface was clean. They only tried one wheel and it wasn't mounted to the tire yet as they were just doing a test fit.
I contacted RockTrix but will have to wait till Monday for a reply. Unfortunately that one wheel was scratched a bit on the inside so they probably won't take that one back which is fine.
The service manager said it's so close, perhaps I could take a Dremel tool with a sanding cylinder and sand a little off the opening. Or I could take it to a custom wheel place to have the opening opened up more, but not sure how much that would cost.
Weird side note: I am running hubcentric wheel spacers for the stock wheels I am running and the new wheels fit over the spacer just fine. Unfortunately, it would be poking out waaay to much with them. The new wheels have a -12mm offset.
Regular side note: I really like the wheels.
Thoughts?
