Just bought a used 2020 Sport 3 weeks ago.. Had 71K miles and a clean CarFax. Got a great price on it. Runs fantastic. I've added 2,000 miles in the 3 weeks. Hoping to get a lot more out of it. Using it as my daily driver to keep the miles off my '23 RAM 2500 Cummins Rebel.

Had a 2012 JK Rubicon. Was very reliable until I sold it in 2016 with 75K miles on it. Fingers crossed.

What was it on your Wrangler that showed up after 100K miles?

I had a 2004 Wrangler with 165k on it when I retired in 2018. In April of '19 I bought the '16 Wrangler with 32k on it. Drove it until July of 2020 when I seen the Gobi Gladiator and had to have it. Haven't looked back or regretted since. 2016 Wrangler was a nice little jeep but the Gladiator won out.

Jeep Gladiator My Views on my Gladiator as its Warranty Expires 20210924_111316

Have the same bug deflector. 2020 Altitude with 40k, only a few initial problems. A leaking shock and a valve needed to be replaced in the transmisiion. Just had the main battery replaced after 2.5 years, which is good for Arizona. I am happy with the reliability so far.

It is the Mopar one. It's my second one. I bought it from Quadratec. The first one lasted a month and the connection tabs all cracked. I called them and they replaced it without a qualm. I mounted it a little different. I took an 1/8th inch thick strip of metal I had. It was 3/4 inch wide and cut it into strips about 2 inches long. Drilled a hole in the center and use them for washers to spread the pressure of the screw tightening.

They give you 2 sets of rubber bumpers for the underside of the deflector. They're numbered 10 and 11. The 11's are larger so I took the 2-11's

off the damaged one and the 2 new ones and used all 4-11's on it. Works great. On my 2nd year of running it and holding up well.
Thank you for this info. Does this mount into pre drilled holes on the underside of the hood or is it secured with 2 sided tape? I do like the looks of this one.

They mount in the pre-drilled holes. Kit gives you fasteners to put into the holes and then screw in. Only odd part is the 2 outside fasteners are phillips head and the center screw is a torx. Took about an hour to install.

The second Jeep that I had owned, which was the 2 door soft top wrangler, at 90,000 some odd miles had the cylinder gasket on one of the cylinders, or whatever that infamous issue was with the early Pentastar V-6 engine was that caused a miss-fire on the cylinder and would allow the coolant to get into the engine oil, diluting it, causing the oil change lite to come on way before a normal oil change should be done.

I had one of those extended warranties thankfully that covered the mileage to 100,000 miles and at the time I was driving enough that the mile limit would be hit before the time limit would on the warranty. The garage did get the cylinder repaired and whatever other miscellaneous work it took to get it running correctly again before it hit the 100,000 miles warranty limit.

I drove it a short bit longer to ensure that it was good and operational for trade-in purposes and then traded it in. I did not want to keep it with that particular engine having by then a known issue of what I just went through. At that time I wasn't sure at what point the Pentastar engine line had corrected the issue and didn't want to run the chance of getting another one that I would be in the same boat again. I tend to hold onto my vehicles a good long while, usually never getting rid of them until well after the 100,000 mile point.

So when I traded it in at a tad over 100,000 miles, I went with a 2018 Ram 1500 Express/Standard edition, whatever you want to call it as its basically the entry level Ram 1500, with the crew cab and the Hemi 5.7L V8 engine in it. I still own the Ram and of course due to Covid haven't put as many miles on it as I would normally put on a vehicle I've had this long.

I do a lot of day hiking and backpacking on the weekends, so I end up in some pretty remote areas or hard to reach areas if a breakdown happens. That is part of the reason I didn't want to keep the 2 door wrangler any longer. Sure I could eventually put a rebuilt engine into it and keep on driving it, but as my backpacking experience expanded I would at times rather than do a solo backpack trip lead a group of others who would ride with me. A 2 door Wrangler is great for one or two adults and their large backpacks, not so good when you have 3 or more adults and the backpacks that go with it.

At the moment I am somewhat torn between keeping the Ram 1500 or trading it in for a Gladiator. The Gladiator does have a lot more room than the 2 door Wrangler and might fit my needs. Still considering the options and learning more about both vehicles.

Thanks for the details! I never had any trouble with the Pentastar in my 2012 2Dr Rubicon. I probably added 2,000+ lbs to it with a lift, skid plates, Hutchison Rock Monster beadlock wheels and 37's. It took everything I could throw at it. Hoping the Gladiator holds up as well. I put about 40-50,000 miles a year on vehicles and usually trade at about 80-90,000, so usually about every 18-24 months. With prices on 3/4 ton trucks rising about 50% in 3-4 years, I'm done with trading so frequently.I've had my Rebel for 2 months now, and only have 4,000 miles on it, so have slowed my roll a bit. All of my kids now have moved here (son lived in Michigan before), so that will help keep the miles down. And then buying the Gladiator as a daily driver is the second part of keeping the miles off the truck.

2021 Max tow. Bought in Oct 2020. Mopar lift, 35's and a bunch of other mods. Just passed the 36K mile mark and the only time it was in for warranty work was a suspension popping sound which they found some suspension components not torqued to spec (dealer installed Mopar lift). That was about at 30K miles

Other then that, no other issues at all (knock on wood) other then routine maintenance like oil changes and tire rotations.

I'm 2 weeks from my warranty timing out on my 2020 Sport S Max Tow. Only warranty work so far was the leaking rear window. I do have an appoint set to see if I can get the steering box upgrade done prior to the warranty running out. Been kicking that can down the road as I hate the dealer experience and didn't want to go through the trouble of putting the stock wheels and tires back on. Looking forward to being able to do some DILIGAF about the warranty mods now. lol.
