slider 1 is on. At the risk of sounding like a total sellout for savvy, this design is almost as awesome as the rear bumper. Not only do the mounts weld on in such a way to allow the frame side mount arms to travel, they come with a super thorough weld schedule to help someone that may not be a top tier welder avoid overdoing it on the frame. Additionally the shell can be installed in about 20 minutes and removed in about the same. As far as I know this is the only one true, weld on slider on the market that can get replaced without grinding the mounts off and starting over.

its super super super tight to the body but still allows for an appropriate stand off from obstacles and if ya put just a touch of grip tape, makes a really great step assist

Savvy makes awesome stuff. One of my favorite Jeep parts manufacturers. I'm a fanboy. 😁

They were probably the first to bring aluminum skid plates to Jeeps. Very innovative, functional, and good looking designs.

I had a bit of an absence while I was wasting a ton of money doing rally racing instead of jeeps. All my other jeeps were sort of built maybe around the time it was around, but I had already invested so much and everything that I wasn’t gonna change. I totally agree though and since I did some prying to get a hold of the first set of weld on sliders and the fender liners for the rear and maybe the third or fourth rear bumper, I don’t know about the part. I’ve spent some time talking to the owners on the phone and I got to meet them in Moab in
May and they are just super genuine, really thoughtful people. So like you, I am definitely a fanboy of savvy, but a new one. I’m sure I will see Gerold, Will and Jake at Trail hero.

that being said I am not the type to ever hold back any criticisms so if I have issues that can’t be easily resolved or find flaws, they are coming back here.

could you take a few photos of how those sliders tie into the frame, I am very interested in them, but savvy doesn't have any good photos of what is happening underneath.

Each foot has a keyed index to the frame either using the top or an existing hole so the guess work is removed on placement.
the instructions got lost between unpacking and install and it was plainly obvious without them.

more detail than this will be hard to show now that they are in with some vanity grinding and paint.

Something I found fascinating about them is the directed load path using gussets. Funneling that energy underneath the body flange and toward the frame required some really intricate techniques.

@rharr was that what you wanted to see?
Yeap, it's nice Savvy is using existing frame holes to help locate connection points. Looks like a frame slider a rock guy would build, direct connect to the frame, no screwing around with body bolts or pinch seams.

I like it.

ok I clearly dont have the patience to deal with hinge hardware so im gonna let someone else deal with the hood in the morning. Thought it’d be easier to cut, grind and paint the frame before the new grill goes in

16ā€ of effective travel hard bump to full droop
Limit straps set to 15 3/4

killing an RTI ramp gonna be no problem but the perfect arc of travel afforded by the separation of the frame mounted links, indestructible truss and axle tube clearance is the real magic here
