I know I know I know. Bare with me.

I am about to pull the trigger on two lifts. One is for my wife’s ‘21 JLUS and the other is for my ‘21 JT Rubi. I have been reading and reading and reading and reading. I can’t make up my mind. I have spent hours watching YouTube and flipping through this forum. I am leaning towards Clayton Off-road (3.5-4.5”) for the JT and a Mopar or Clayton for the JL. We will be 90% road/highway with some weekend warrior type four wheeling. No big rock crawls but canyon type trails. I will be towing a roughly 5000# trailer on some weekend trips to lakes and tv parks. Looking to stay around a 35” tire on the JT.

Talk to me. Give me the scoop. I have looked at dynatrac, teraflex, metal cloak, icon, bds, Mopar, and rock krawler. Pictures for reference.

I would suggest pulling the trigger on the ONE lift that all the reading you've done points to that most closely meet your needs. Once you've run that for a period of time, you'll have some real world and personal experience on what you like and what you don't. Then purchase the second lift knowing what your personal preferences are.

Check out JKS. They don’t market heavily, but have really nice stuff. I have their 3.5” lift with fox 2.0 on my ‘21 rubicon and it rides great. I have 37’s, but it wouldn’t look weird with 35’s. I also upgraded steering with yeti steer smarts. Very nice setup. Have their lower control arms and sway bar links as well.

Why so big a lift for 35 tires The Rubi is good with no lift or 2 inch if you need more flex
I agree that 4.5 is high for 35’s. I like 3-3.5” as it allows you to not go too big, but leaving room for 37’s if someone wants in the future.

Why not get the Mopar, based on your use description it should be great, no need to spend anymore money and replace lots more suspension parts. 35” tires will fit perfectly.

To answer the majority of the questions. I am wanting to have more lift than the Mopar on my JT Rubicon. From what I have read the Mopar kit won’t raise the JT enough for the break over angles I am looking for. I would possibly (would love to) go to 37” tires and regear to either 4.88 or 5.13. I just don’t know what a lift and 37s would due to the TT towing. I am leaning way more towards the 3.5 inch lifts.

I was thinking the Mopar would be perfect for the JL as it will net around 3inch lift before we put on bumpers and a winch.

Towing 5K with a big lift and higher center of gravity could make for some bad handling, have you looked at the AEV dual sport lift? Should give you a little more lift than the Mopar but fully engineered to maintain the vehicles capabilities unlike almost all the other brands.

Good point. Lifts take away towing ability and stability. One should check out the 4x4 truck sites that explain it. Higher center of gravity means less stability towing.
I'd absolutely want the best shocks I could find if towing on a lift more than 2".
3.5-4.5 will make towing less than fun, IMO.

I will look into them as well.
How are you liking your soft shell?
Love it. No wind noise. Solid construction, great for the dog, and folds down in two minutes.

I have the Clayton Overland + 2.5” kit, if you plan on moving to 35’s, i wouldn‘t go taller than 2.5”. It’s a pricier kit, but it articulates incredibly.
