When you remove the filler strip from the tops of the frame rails (the strip between bumper and grill) you start the process of reducing efficiency. Add a winch that sticks above the top of the bumper - you divert air. Right away you've reduced cooling.
I'm starting to get it. I don't really have a reason to make a change yet because I really don't have overheating issues. However, Im gonna keep an eye on my temps more often and maybe end up changing to like a different front bumper with no bull bar where my winch can sit alot lower.

I am gonna change to the new grill because I like the look.

The standard JT without mods and not towing a heavy load won't run out of normal temperature ranges. For a person with a stock Jeep, there's only one reason to swap grills - looks/appearance. It's not going to fix a problem that doesn't exist otherwise.
Some seem to believe that anything over 190 or 195 is bad - incorrect. Best temperatures for best efficiency as far as fuel burns, etc. is over 200 degrees. So people trying to keep it under 200 are doing a disservice to their engine.

I get a kick out of the anecdotal stories of these grills lowering their operating temperature just driving down the road. OK, whatever.

Good points. I was just looking at my grill on my truck, then brought up a picture of the new grill and compared. The new grill (to me) is more aesthetically pleasing to my eye. Comparing the 2, the older grill, like on my truck is alot "flatter" or "monotone" looking if you will than the contours of the new grill.

Now I gotta decide if I'm gonna order a new grill in black or stingrey (truck is stingrey)and if black, matte or glossy. Can this decision get any harder?? fuck balls

The diesels overheat stock unloaded on hills. Unfortunately the little extra airflow doesn’t matter as the factory fan and shroud move as much air as you can get. I’ve run no grill and still overheat oil temps.

I've 'heard' that the new grill restricts visibility so much that you could hit a 2x6 in a parking lot.
Of course YMMV

Look at that departure angle though.

As promised, the 2024 grille in SG. Now I need to 1. figure out how to secure the front cam wiring (not the same clamp or clamp placement as the old grille) and 2. remove the cam wash nozzle from the old grille and install it on the 24.

So I finally received my '24 grill from @AllMoparParts.com early this week (3 months wait time). Unfortunately there was a 3" crack on the top, passenger side of the large black base, plus one of the lower mounting tabs into which the metal clips are fitted was also broken off. Because All Mopar Parts could not estimate the time for replacement of the broken part other than "at least 3 weeks or more" I decided to repair it as best as I could with plastic welding techniques (took an extra hour of work but turned out OK).
All Mopar Parts said they would process a partial refund for the broken part but have yet to determine the amount. Let's wait and hope it's considerable.
Now, I've not seen any posts as to the actual grill swap and exactly what's involved, so here's my take on it.
Got the body colored surround pieces (4) painted at a shop, and I painted the slot trim/ headlight bezels in dark gray.
All the parts for the new grill snapped into place quite precisely. To complete the job you will need 8 new plastic rivets (and gun to install them) along the top edge, two self tapping screws on each of the inside lower corners, transfer and re-use 6 metal clips along the bottom, swap over the weatherstripping along the top edge (fitted with Xmas tree plugs) and the foam rubber seals on both top corners (fitted with Xmas tree plugs and contact glue).
Although the camera and its washer nozzle fit precisely into their slots, the camera bracket does not fit the new grill and no replacement was sent. I fabricated a simple bracket out of 3mm thick ABS plastic sheet to resolve this issue. The camera cable clips cannot be swapped over so I re-routed said cable up below the top edge on the driver's side and down along the headlight bezel and fixed it in place with small zip ties.
After all this was done, the whole thing just snapped back into place on the front of the Gladiator and looks fantastic!
It's certainly more involved that I thought it would be and I hope this helps anyone that will be performing the grill change in the future.
See pics below for clarification of certain details.
