Finally got the new Driveshaft put in from J. E. Reel Driveline Services (https://www.reeldriveline.com). There is little to no play in this driveshaft and the response is noticeable over the factory unit. Hats off to these guys as they really know there Jeep Driveshafts.

Why would you not stay with a factory warranty?

Good question and I know its a heated debate usually. So EVO, JE and King Shocks all reside near me. In my opinion, the best suspension, driveshaft and shock manufacturers around. i know them all well. After going through my build with them as part of the process, we all felt a custom, much heavier duty drive shaft was a better fit for my specific needs based on size of lift, tires and towing I would be doing. I know many say you dont notice a single thing with a new driveshaft, I can tell you I sure did and so did these companies. Its hard to explain but its just more solid.

Why would you pay for an aftermarket shaft and not eliminate that trouble area in the carrier? If my OE shaft gives me any trouble, the carrier bearing is going away.

The carrier bearing was replaced with the one from JE Driveline.

I see that. What I mean is, why not go with a one piece shaft and eliminate a trouble area? The OE shaft is at a nearly horizontal plane, very little ground clearance gained by using a carrier. I personally would have just gone one piece.

But, different strokes for different folks. It is a nice looking upgrade. J.E. makes nice stuff.

Ok, now I get what you are saying..sorry about that. From what I understand you cannot do a 1 piece...or better yet, no one has come up with a 1 piece since the gladiator is much longer it needs to be 2 piece. Would love to know if there is a 1 piece.

Tom Woods has a 1 piece on his website, not sure he is as popular as he once was. He was the go to guy back when I built my TJ. When mine needs replaced I will be ordering from him. Probably had a 100,000 miles on his driveshafts
