Location is an apartment complex in east Des Moines.
30,203 miles, 47% fuel level, 29% oil life left (hey, dude, time to get an oil change!)
So about 3,000 miles on it since I traded it in July.

This is a very interesting thread. I have problems with the owners website as well. It only lists me as the ā€˜subscriber’ and not the ā€˜owner’ like it does for my TJ. It also will not pull up any service records. I contacted customer care several times and talked with a variety of folks and nobody could figure it out. They just said it wont impact my ownership. But not having access to records is crappy IMO. I also find it interesting that there are two different apps that apparently do the same thing. Even customer care didnt know that themselves when questioned which one I should be using…….

but the uconnect works fine. It has me questioning the security of this system though for sure.

Can't add my jeep. IF I go through US it doesn't work, Canada no clue how to and the German Jeep site just throws errors

The more I look at this, the more it bothers me. What's to prevent a person from adding a VIN to your "garage" and subscribing to the Sirius security stuff - granted, you must also know the radio number - but that's likely not too terribly difficult to gather with the tech out there today.
So you call Sirius, yes, I'd like to subscribe - here's my VIN - oh, with the vin you have the radio number, ok, thank you. Yes, 12 months please.

Ok, now you add that to your app and you can follow that person around everywhere. You know where that Jeep is parked! You can drive by and see it.
Worse, the thing belongs to your ex and you have all of the info, super super easy to track her anywhere she goes. Or maybe SHE is tracking YOU?!

Maybe I'm just imagining things and it's really not that easy at all. Maybe it's next to impossible to subscribe to that service if you are not an owner of the vehicle - but then....... if you used to be an owner, or just got through a divorce and he/she got the Jeep - oh, the trouble you could cause.

Or could you? I'm guessing here!
Obviously by the responses laying out what has what uconnect, the app and all that, there's someone here who blows us all away in the knowledge on how this works.
Could any of the stuff I've mentioned really happen - or am I going off the deep end and there's just NO WAY without photo ID, a finger print, an original birth certificate and your passport and a notarized letter from your mother?

Playing devil's advocate here - how would it be done and who would do it?
I would argue, when FCA is notified of the sale/transfer (God knows, they contact me 1000x a month for the mopar warranty, as soon as I buy another vehicle... they LITERALLY emailed me 6 days after buying the GC... before my insurance company had even sent me an updated insurance card, Mopar knew I was the owner of the GC.... that alone makes me scratch my head.)

My biggest issue, honestly, is that the moment you notify Mopar that you no longer have the vehicle, they should remove it from the account... And they DID, on the Mopar.com and 'MyJeep' app.. I just don't understand why this new app is sourcing its ownership information from someplace else, when they actually USE the mopar.com credentials to log in.

But, no matter how many times I tell them I'm no longer the owner of that Renegade, AND I AM the owner of the GC, they won't update the new app to reflect that... meanwhile, all of the pertinent info I care about (current vehicle status, repair work, etc...) is all accessible in the old app AND on their website. There is no parity on the new app, with their own owner's portal.

That said, I'd say there should be a dealership process to at LEAST deactivate it, especially if you're purchasing and selling at an auth'd Jeep dealer. They seem to have that part down, on their website, anyway.

Did you contact SiriusXM to cancel the Guardian Service when you traded the truck in? I would have to see if I could get a refund for the remaining service term.

Even though the vehicles are showing in the App, the remote functions should not work unless someone is paying for a subscription. I'm waiting for someone to try it and report back.

When I bought my Overland, the dealer set everything up using the email address I provided. I just had to respond and create a password. The remote functions were working when I left. I would assume they should have to do the same for each additional owner.

My Nissan Leaf remote functions were also run by SiriusXM (stopped working when AT&T turned off 3G service). To get access, as the second owner, I had to provide ownership proof to Nissan Customer Service to get an account created to use the remote functions.

I did contact JeepCares about not being able to login to the new Jeep app. They responded that the developers are having internal issues and I should continue using the existing Jeep and Uconnect apps for now.

See, that sounds like what I would call the "PROPER" way of doing it.. aside from the whole relying on AT&T to not turn off a radio band. Did they ever do a warranty replacement of that modem/module? Being a leaf, I can't image it was that old was it?

As for the new app, good on JeepCares for at least telling you to not use the new app... though, that said, with the 'internal issues' they're claiming, I'd argue that disabling or pulling the app would probably be the wiser decision, at least until they figure out why their 2 apps aren't accessing the same database, or at least a database that's sourced from the original.

No refunds. It's even in the fine print and on their web site. You can sign up in April and trade the truck 8 weeks later - no refund.

It's a 2013 Leaf. They did one modem replacement for $100 when 2G service was turned off. They did not offer any upgrade when 3G was turned off. The service was always provided at no cost. I did get a warranty replacement on the battery pack in 2017. It's in surprisingly good shape for its age. It's a car I'll keep until it stops working.

If you don’t renew your subscription service a year after new purchase you will get the screen below. I elected to not renew due to reports of it not working (vehicle finder, stolen vehicle finder etc). I thought it pricy for the options I used one or twice over the last year.

Have you tried the new Jeep app to see what it shows?

Where can I get it?

Mine dropped out +/- Oct 25 after I didn’t renew. Apparently XM Guardian is connected to the Uconnect app.

It should be in the App Store. It's now just the Jeep app. The My Jeep app should prompt you to download it when you open it up. The Uconnect App is still separate. The new app combines the functions of the My Jeep and Uconnect apps, but is having some operational issues.
