Is it compatible with the Sunrider flip top?
https://a.co/d/0bTuZUyZ
Hey,
First off, my sincere apologies for the delayed response! We've been sorting through a ton of inquiries lately.
To answer your question:
Yes, it’s 100% Sunrider-friendly! We specifically designed this setup so you can still pop the top and enjoy that open-air freedom.
Just a quick heads-up: when you're out wheeling on rough trails, you might notice some slight vibration rub between the valance and the frame. It's nothing to worry about, but just something to keep an eye on!
Best regards,
George

How much does it weigh? With and without the ladders?
Hey there,
Here are the weight specs for the cargo rack setup:
Total Weight (with Side Ladders): Approx. 50 lbs
Weight (without Ladders): Approx. 44 lbs
Note: This total package includes the heavy-duty carbon steel roof rack, mounting brackets, dual side ladders, and 4 LED pods.
Let me know if you need anything else!
Best,
George

Roof Rack.webp

[/QUOTE]
I do believe when I had my German Shepherd, he'd complain about that tent, "Too small, boss, get a bigger one.". I know it's just a computer generated example, but c'mon....

Roof Rack.webp
Haha, you got us! You’ve got a sharp eye, man. 🎯

You're totally right—that's a digital rendering, and our design team definitely got the scale wrong on that tent. It looks like a tent made for a Chihuahua rather than a majestic German Shepherd!

But honestly? Your German Shepherd would actually be right about this current half-frame basket—it’s built for cargo, not for hauling heavy-duty Rooftop Tents (RTTs).

But here’s the scoop: We heard the pups of the world loud and clear.

We are currently gearing up to launch a brand-new, Full-Frame Cargo Basket! This beast will feature dual side ladders, 4 pre-installed LED pod lights, and a heavy-duty structure fully rated to carry your real-world gear, kayaks, and yes—a full-sized, heavy-duty RTT big enough for you and a very happy German Shepherd. 🐾

Appreciate the laugh and the reality check. Stay tuned, because the big dog upgrade is coming soon!

Best,

George

Where do you run the cable for the cube lights ?
Hey,

Great question! Routing the wiring on a JT is actually pretty straightforward.

For our rack, the cleanest way is to run the cables along the bottom channels of the cargo basket frame using heavy-duty zip ties or wire looms to keep everything tucked away and protected from the elements.

To answer your question on hookups: Our 4 LED pod lights come with pigtail connectors (wiring leads), but the main wiring harness is not included.

Here is how most JT owners hook them up to their rigs:

If your JT has factory Aux Switches: You're in luck! You don't need a full wiring harness. Just run the wires down the passenger side of the windshield/A-pillar (using a cowl mount or tucked under the trim) straight to the factory auxiliary wire bundle under the hood.

If your JT does not have factory Aux Switches: You will need to grab a standard 4-in-1 wiring harness (complete with a relay, fuse, and switch) to run them directly to your battery and route the switch into your cab.

Let me know if you need any routing tips or bracket recommendations. We're here to help!

Best,

George

I think A.I. is a great tool...for fun things, not serious things.

If a company is going to A.I. something....and quite poorly at that...I kinda lose faith in that company. The poor job of the tent size, the guy on the ladder with his arms outstretched....and doing nothing, is an obvious and poorly executed cut/paste job.

Is the rack true to size ? Is the ladder as narrow as the dude standing on it shows (both feet tight together) ? The product cannot be trusted if the ad selling your product is totally fake.

It's not that hard or that difficult to mount your product on an actual Gladiator and take a few pics of it. Leave off the comical tent, leave off the male internet-sourced model that was doing something else in the original pic and looks ridiculous in this ad.

Y'know, be honest.
Hey,

You’re 100% right, and we appreciate the reality check. No excuses—that marketing render was a poorly executed shortcut, and it doesn't represent the quality of our actual gear. We hear you loud and clear.

To answer your questions with absolute honesty:

Is the rack true to size? Yes. We actually own a real 2022 Red Jeep JT Gladiator that we use as our R&D rig. This cargo basket was designed, test-fitted, and trail-tested on our own JT for a 100% perfect fit. (I've attached our real-world testing video/photos to this post so you can see the actual product on a real truck).

About the ladder width: You caught a very real design limitation. The dual side ladders are indeed narrow—they are physically designed for one foot at a time to assist you in climbing up to secure or grab gear, rather than standing on them with both feet planted.

We are binning that comical CGI ad. We'd rather build trust through dirty tires and real metal than lazy photoshop.

Check out the real-world clip below, and let me know what you think. We'd love to earn your faith back.

Best,

George

100% agreed. Communication and trust are everything in this community.

We messed up on the ad, but we’re here to face the music and make it right. No more CGI shortcuts—just real gear, real test rigs, and honest specs from here on out.

Thanks for keeping us accountable, man. That's what makes this forum great.

Best,
George

Last night, I just finished roughing up all the powder coat and sprayed it all with raptor liner for more protection before install. Also added texture to ladder steps. It was a brutal project to do. I can tell you the hardware appears to be stainless steel. I tested it in some salt water over like 2-3 days and no rust.
Agree 💯. I own this product (see pics), but it was bought from Temu. Maybe Monoking sold it, but I didn't see that specifically in the item description. It is exactly the same down to the mountain-shaped front piece of the rack. I would rather see an actual photo as well. The rack I bought is all still in pieces, as I raptor lined everything before install. Also added aluminum oxide sand to the rungs for more grip. I don't plan on installing until late fall when my hard top goes back on. I can say all the welds looked good. The ladder rungs are 5 1/4 inches wide. No one is getting two feet on them. I tested the hardware in salt water for about 48 hours and it didn't rust.

Hey man,

First off, a huge thank you for sharing your experience and the incredibly detailed feedback on our cargo basket!

Your prep work is absolute next-level—roughing up the powder coat, spraying everything with Raptor liner, and adding aluminum oxide sand to the rungs for extra traction is a brilliant pro-move. It’s a brutal amount of work, but we know it's going to look insanely rugged and hold up beautifully on the trails. Also, love that you put our hardware through a 2-3 day saltwater torture test! We use high-quality stainless steel specifically to fight off trail rust, so we’re thrilled to hear it passed your test with flying colors.

You’re spot on about the ladders, too—at 5 1/4 inches wide, they’re strictly designed for one foot at a time to help you grab gear, not for standing with both feet planted.

Since you mentioned you have bumpers and rails next on your project list, we'd love to help out. As a huge thank you for your support and keeping it real on the forum, we would love to send you a free sample of our JT bumper or side rails/steps!

No rush at all while your paint is curing, but whenever you're ready, please shoot us an email at [email protected] so we can get those goodies sent your way.

In the meantime, if you need a quick reference during your late-fall install, feel free to check out our step-by-step setup video here:

Or just email us for the full PDF manual. We can’t wait to see the photos of your fully Raptor-lined setup once the hardtop goes back on!

Best regards,

George

That's incredibly generous and totally unnecessary. I honestly just wanted to give what little info I had and be objective. I have already bought my rails and bumpers (pics) and did the same raptor lining to them. Just need to install.

I may take you up on some tube doors, since they appear to be comparably priced. I'll send an email if that's ok. Thank you very much! And I will continue to give honest updates on the build with your product(s).

So, how does the bottom of the ladder attach? Do you require side steps or rails?

Retired. Finally !!
Thanks for the info, guys, I appreciate it.

I think I'll have to stop and get some sidewalk chalk and give that a try. I've never done that before, believe it or not. We don't have kids so I have no chalk lying about.... I could wait until a kid in the neighborhood starts chalking the sidewalk and go steal a stick....no wait, scratch that....lol

Like most people, I never really give my spare a thought until needed. When my Jeeps had an external spare on the back, it's real easy to keep an eye on it; it's in your face. My truck still has the factory Bridgestone 245/75/17 spare on it. I may drop and pull it and go get a matching tire. Technically, they're both about the same height, the 245 is just narrower.
