Thanks for the info, guys, I appreciate it.

I think I'll have to stop and get some sidewalk chalk and give that a try. I've never done that before, believe it or not. We don't have kids so I have no chalk lying about.... I could wait until a kid in the neighborhood starts chalking the sidewalk and go steal a stick....no wait, scratch that....lol

Like most people, I never really give my spare a thought until needed. When my Jeeps had an external spare on the back, it's real easy to keep an eye on it; it's in your face. My truck still has the factory Bridgestone 245/75/17 spare on it. I may drop and pull it and go get a matching tire. Technically, they're both about the same height, the 245 is just narrower.
I replaced mine. Used the old spare to reacquaint myself with tire plugs and such. Kinda fun stabbing a tire and then fixing it. I’ve acquired a few tire repair kits over the years so have a plethora of tire repair stuff. I DONT have Glue Tread sheets though. May have to remedy that soon.

Retired. Finally !!
In all my vehicles, as far back as I can remember, I've always kept an "oh crap" bag. Tools, bulbs, fuses, a decent first aid kit (not an IFAK), 3 road flares that look like sticks of dynamite on every Clint Eastwood spaghetti western and a flat tire repair kit. The Old Skool kind; the reamer, glue, waxed rope and a utility knife. I tried that kit when I was a teen. Knocks the crap out of your hand. But I carried one.

This Jeep ? Haven't put in a flat repair kit yet. Flares will NOT make the roster. I've seen those little self-sealing rubber plugs on Amazon, not sure if I'll give them a go.

Second question: you said that the ladders attach to the pinch weld. Does that mean that my Rubi rails that came on my Mojave will interfere with the attachment points of the ladder?
