Unless someone else already mentioned it, I’d be interested whether the bumper bolts/nuts have tool marks indicating a field swap versus a build sheet blunder.

Im about 99.9% certain mine was miss built. Its not a straight forward bumper swap, as some of the bracket pieces are different (at least this is what the service manager told me) and the front skid plate is totally different. Not an easy task by a shady salesperson in the parking lot.

There's a good point. The steel bumper would come with the steel skid plate that bolts to the front bumper.
The steel skid plate with a plastic bumper requires two additional brackets as it is not secured in the front by the bumper.
It's not a simple remove 4 nuts on each side, and swap bumpers.

That reminds me. I still have my original plastic bumper and skid plate collecting dust. It's too bad that stock Mojave skid plate doesn't fit anything but a Mojave.

It will fit a Rubicon with the plastic bumper and vice versa. Same as the Rubicon metal skid plate, just different paint.

Also fit other models with the plastic bumper if the right brackets and rivnuts inserts are installed.

I know it weighs a ton. It's almost as heavy as the plastic bumper!
