I got mine last fall, and it made a huge difference. The dealer did re-install my track bar backwards, but all in all, it was a good deal to correct the sloppy steering. Good luck
I'm impressed. I'm trying to think how that is possible. I would think that the angle would be off and it wouldn't fit, especially by the passenger axle mount.
This is a brand new design, it’s not the last TSB steering box.
This is why I am reluctant to take mine to the dealer.
If it's anything like our late September build 4xe steering box it will be wonderful. The 4xe's box is tight with no play in the center, has really made me look at adjusting my gladiators to try to remove some of the center slop.
Let us know what part number your dealer installed on the Jeep. I'd like to know what what it is and how it improves your steering. I haven't done any steering updates on mine yet as I was considering just moving to a PSC hydraulic steering setup. But if this corrects all the slop in the steering then i'll fight my dealer to have it installed when they fix the door corrosion, back window leak, bad rear parking sensors and rear taillight thats fogging up. Ya I have a laundry list of issues with this Jeep.
I tried finding information online but this must have come out just before I received the call. It’s “straight from Chrysler” is what I’m told. I could possibly be one of the first ones getting this new steering box.
Yeah, for a rubicon, you shouldn’t have any of those problems. My only issue is the steering dead spot. I’ll be sure to post any info people are looking for but I’ve got nearly 2 weeks I have to wait. I have a feeling that this will fix it, how could they possibly mess up a second steering box…
