I have a 23 Gladiator Freedom edition that came with OEM LED headlights. Previous owner replaced them with aftermarket LEDs and screwed up all the wiring while he was at it. Got wiring corrected and the headlights work, but driver’s side is too dim. Question: since most of the inexpensive aftermarket LEDs seem to be designed to plug-and-play if OEM was halogen, should I just aim for OEM LEDs?
I’m concerned if I get LEDs designed to replace halogens they won’t work correctly.
Too many options out there for this newbie.

I think your logic is correct. If it came with factory LEDs I personally wouldn’t want anything less than factory LEDs. They are a bit pricey but there aren’t many aftermarket options that look/function better. Check the marketplace here, you might get lucky and find a set.

Just scrolling through the marketplace, it appears that @MassAppeal16 may have some OEM LED headlights for sale. Might want to reach out and see what happens.

Do you have to use a tazer when upgrading a 2023? I was told that you could just swap out lights on 23 and not reprogram

I swapped cheap LED lights for my halogens. Using my Jscan I tried both LED and Halogen setting and it made no difference. I couldn't change the clocking on the cheap buns and the high beams wouldn't work. I then went to Oracle LED bulbs and adjusted the clocking. I now have a great beam pattern and high/ low beams. I am very satisfied!

The OEM LED's are really good. I have a 2020 that came with the halogen headlights. I did a bulb upgrade first and was disappointed. I've now had the OEM LED's for over 2.5 years and they have been flawless.

I did use J-scan to make some adjustments. The biggest was turning on the halo DRL.

Thanks for the responses, everyone… I’m not familiar with Tazer or Jscan. What’s the deal?

Jscan is less expensive and easier to use. Tazer has a lot of extra features. You need a programmer to adjust settings for things like tire size and LED lights.
