I read your post - and figured - termites? LOL, yeah, right............ then looked at your location.
Yes, Termites.
But not around here. Or even in CN. The termite thing just isn't a real issue outside of FL and certain other southern states.
You can trim your house with bare wood, not fill any nail holes, not a problem. (the guy who build this house did that in the mostly finished basement - no termites. I can't say I've even seen them around here. Carpenter ants, yes, they use power tools these days)
I hear that in FL you can simply say the word "wood" and termites come running like cats to a fish vendor.
Have you ever heard of the Powder Post Beetle? They can cause almost as much damage as the Termite.

So far I don't think this fella has caught on to what this forum is. I'm not sure it is going to end well for him. And I don't believe the JL forum is going to be anymore receptive to him either.
honestly, thats a little sad. He could be younger, but generally could be wanting to learn and enjoy the forum. I think there are much worse things someone young could be looking at.

Enjoy your time here man, dont take everyone seriously as forums are full of sarcasm. I am one of the worst with using it.

I also own an Axial SCX10 gladiator. Painted mine Gobi tan because it matched my old truck. I need to get a new body and do a mojito green color now.

Yeah, years ago ran into a fellow who dealt with those in trees cut for firewood and stacked near his house. Tiny holes with tiny mounds of fine powder.
I've seen what I suspect may be results of them in our woods and it's one reason I drag cut trees and brush into a burn pile out in the woods - and far away from the house.

They can handle the climate here well, so you have to beware of those and again, the carpenter ants which we have had on the house and had to treat for them. They got behind the old hardwood (masonite) siding and made channels in the back of the siding and started to attack the sill plates and bottoms of the studs in the walls. Had to do some patching and siding replacement on the east end shortly after moving here.
I treat the ground and lower parts of the house several times a year for various insects as when you live where we live, expect nature will want to reclaim what is nature's.
I've not seen any signs of insect damage in years, but when my wife sees any ant crawling on the house, she insists I spray again.

Out by my shop, the lean-to area, I have steel shelving with wood planks serving as the shelves and have it extended upward with wood - and the issue there is carpenter bees. Wasp spray doesn't phase them and they get really pissed if you go after them - they will literally come at you and even chase you. Nasty things

I am not defending anyone, but I do try to think of the possibilities.

He likes Jeeps and set up a user name for himself.

His mother bought a Jeep and he set up a user name for his mom.

Now granted, he may be operating two user names not realizing he is violating a forum rule.
I was going to pass on by, but this whole thread seemed uncomfortably familiar 😆

1) We're either being trolled.

2) Or legitimately a stop off for a minor (or someone else that may be a bit - different) that has quite a fascination with Jeeps and not much an outlet for that.

I grew up as an only child to a single mom that spent an awful lot of time making sure we had what we needed, and I had very few friends at my reach - and I had bordering on autistic levels of interest in things, so when I found the world of the internet (via dial up no less!) I spent a lot of time on forums, chat rooms, etc. All reflective of interests I had regardless of if it was entirely age appropriate for me to be there. In some cases, that even included multiple usernames and even being a bit of a pain. That's what kids do sometimes I suppose. I bet with the internet these days - it's even more accessible as that outlet.

Never forgot though, a few people conceded to that fact and treated me well enough not knowing whether they were being trolled or I was legitimate.

Anyway. Just reflecting.

Carry on, Jacob.
