I'm sure most here know this but I just found out today....if your key fob is in the jeep and you lock the doors and get out the horn beeps 3 times and the doors unlock....to cool to this hillbilly

I ALWAYS lock the doors AFTER I get out, using the fob.

I taught that to my wife too, impressing upon her how much it sucks locking your keys in the car. She'd always lock the car from the door panel then get out and close the door. I told her ALWAYS use the fob AFTER you get out of the car to lock the doors.

But, this is good to know.

Mine was built in May/June 2019 (took delivery in July 2019) so I don't know if it actually has that feature or if that feature was added in later model years.

I found out today while cleaning the inside,must of hit the lock button while cleaning

It’s funny- I never touch the fob unless I’m approaching the tailgate when it’s locked. (Auto Unlock feature)

This is a feature on most newer FCA models. I had it on my challenger as well. I think it’s great cause as much as people try, sometimes we get distracted and do stupid things, so it’s nice having a car that’s smart enough to go “hey dumb dumb you forgot your keys!”

At least since 2018 model year, my wife used to have a 2018.
She sometimes puts her key fob in her jacket pocket. One time she got to a store and left her jacket in the back seat. She tried and tried to lock her Jeep and got home and said there's something wrong, I can't lock my Jeep.
I went out and saw her jacket in the back seat and....... well......... I nicely told her that not only was that the reason, but anyone could have gotten in and pushed the button and driven away.
She's a lot more careful now.

Can the horn honking 3 times be shut off? I got home at 2am and had to move the garbage can out of the driveway and the horn went off since I had the key in my pocket, if the jeep is running it will sound the horn too. Cant always remember to put the key in the jeep then get out.

I never had to use this feature, key never leaves pocket. My 2017 GMC Canyon did that too.

My wife’s 2015 charger did the same thing I had the other key fob in my jacket pocket and through it in the trunk took the car to the dealership because the damn trunk wouldn’t latch they called me ten minutes later and said it won’t if the keys are left in the trunk

I couldn't leave the FOB in the truck. If I am in it, so is the FOB. When I get out, so does the fob.
When I go in the house, so does the fob. When I get in the truck, so does the fob.
I lose and misplace things..........but not the JT fob
