my 2020 locks with the fob in the truck... how do I know? one of my fobs is some where between drivers seat and the plastic console... actually I think it somehow wedged under the console had it on a lanyard with house keys in winter.. thankfully was able to fish the house key out... however my truck fob is under there somewhere... might need to remove the seat to get it..

I'm experimenting with figuring out being able to lock the jt with the key in / on / under it. We sometimes go camping previously I would stash my jku keys in / under the jeep so they aren't in the woods "somewhere" if they fall out of my pocket....

I believe I need to figure out signal blocking box... not a huge deal but I don't want to be looking for the key along the last hiking trail....

My 2020 will beep and unlock if the fob is in the truck. Was told by salesman that if you lock it three times it will lock with key fob in Jeep.

Can the horn honking 3 times be shut off? I got home at 2am and had to move the garbage can out of the driveway and the horn went off since I had the key in my pocket, if the jeep is running it will sound the horn too. Cant always remember to put the key in the jeep then get out.
when you get out don't close the door and it wont alert you.

My fob never leaves my pocket unless I change pants. I even push the buttons with it in my pocket. But….that said….it’s good to know this.

I've on multiple occasions left my fob in the Jeep. Jeep running. No honk. Also left it running and have taken the keys out of it. No honk. What is this honk you speak of? The only time mine honks is when I lock it or I honk at someone to get the fuck out of my way.

It’s funny- I never touch the fob unless I’m approaching the tailgate when it’s locked. (Auto Unlock feature)
Wait, what? Your tailgate unlocks when you approach?

I get out of it with the key in my pocket and it yells at me (3 times) ?
I leave mine running every time I go into the gas station. Lock the doors with the fob and walk away. Never has beeped.

Actually nothing unlocks as you approach. You have to put fingers behind one of the front door handles. It's not touchless, it's just "don't touch the fob" touchless.
I DO wish the tailgate worked that way but with fob in holster, there's no digging so it's not any big deal. Touch fob button or touch front door handle - both are equally easy.

I scared the shit out of myself when I took my mother to Lowe's to get some gardening stuff and must have not shut off the engine while I was helping her out. It was running outside in the parking lot the entire time... but it was quiet enough I didn't notice either leaving or returning - it was the already unlocked door that caught my attention before I noticed it was still running.

Per the above anecdote, it wouldn't lock when I tried to lock it while running. Did you have to do something special to lock it? Someone mentioned having to hit "lock" 3x.

I don't have to put my fingers behind the handles. Sometimes I have to touch it, or just get my hand near it, but not always.

Ummm maybe I'm doing something wrong? Fob in Jeep. Other fob in hand. Open door close door locks Jeep one beep as if I just locked it. That's it. Jeep not running. Does it matter if I use one or other?
Edit:
Had one fob in hand. Locked Jeep with fob that was in Jeep. Closed door. No other beeps. Remained locked.

I honestly don't know. I wonder if it's a manual thing? But I am all the time pulling into a store or gas station, leave the jeep running, lock the doors with the fob and go inside. Never a beep.
