Newer TPMS Sensor Backwards Compatible?

First off, I realize I should probably DM @Gvsukids before posting. He's like the forum historian ... great at digging up old threads that address "new" topics. But I didn't...

Has anybody confirmed if the 06/2021 and newer TPMS sensor is compatible with an earlier model JT? The threads I saw indicated the older sensor not working on a newer vehicle, but what about the other way around?

Having done some research to purchase new tpms sensors for some takeoff Rubicon wheels, I do not think they are backwards compatible. They have a different communication frequency and protocol from what I read.

I made the same dreaded mistake. New wheels and tires bought new TPMS without doing VIN. Got AB when i should've gotten AA. Either way it doesn't work. like stated above it is a different system completely. Turned it off with my Tazer.
