Can I do this and plug an inverter into it to run more than 400w? I was thinking of installing a power outlet but need more than the 400w that jeep offers

You would want to size the cable, connections, fusing, etc based on your expected load. You can run a 12,000 lb winch with big enough cable, you can run a bigger inverter as well, if you size everything properly.

ShadowsPapa I did the same and made my own socket panel but I didn't want to drill or cut into the bed. My part comes out about 2.5 inches to allow space for the 12v sockets and wiring.

I've got the part listed on thingiverse for free download https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5739408. If you don't have a 3D printer, hit me up and I can maybe work with whoever to print and ship.
That Setup looks great! The link doesn't connect anymore. Like the inverter as well. Where is that outlet available at

They have it available on their website, but pretty pricey. Keep an eye on the current draw...as I just learned most cigarette/aux plugs are only rated for ~12-15A. My compressor is a 30A draw....so planning on a 40A plug rating with 8AWG wiring.
