The VIN can tell you
What does your build sheet say? Should be a line for "Heavy Duty Cooling".

If you do not have it, you can find it at the link below for 2024 and prior model years. Just add your VIN with no spaces on the end of the URL.

https://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/BuildSheetServlet?vin=

I know my 2025 base Sport with no tow package has the 240A alternator and the upgraded fuse array but my build sheet lists it as "Standard Duty Cooling". I suspect I still though have the 600W cooling fan. I will probably verify that today sometime if I can get to it.
He already checked and posted a little further down #54 https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/add-850w-heavy-duty-cooling-fan-to-3-6l-gladiator-that-didnt-come-with-it-no-tow-package-or-max-tow.66588/post-1618570

Factory Aux switches? That triggers the 240 too.
Yes, and at least in the past, the larger main battery.
Now the aux switches are tied to the tow package (or were in the 23 JLU) - if you had one, you had the other in the JLU.

For a long time people thought that Mojave came with it too because one of the early reviews mentioned the 'heavy duty desert cooling.' The reviewer didn't realize it had that fan because of the tow package on their review truck.
You can see how they thought that, though - you'd expect every Mojave to have the HD alternator, fan and so on because of the desert use - it was even shown with the Jeep Desert Runner in the Middle East in some articles. I'll give them a partial pass for that screw-up - but had they done a build sheet or looked at a window sticker, any research at all, before releasing it for publication................

a lot of magazine reviews tend to twist things up, though - they have screwed up so many things over the years, even putting words in the CEO's mouth at times.

I had the 220a stock, ran the 850 for awhile just fine - but then OCD took over and I bought a 240 =D
I remember your fan swap - even saved your pictures and bookmarked it as it was fantastic information. It was an excellent write-up, well explained.
I won't have to refer to it for my own needs any longer but if anyone around asks - I can quickly refer to it.

I suspect the cost of keeping/tracking multiple parts finally overcame the cost of putting the same thing in all of them. It costs money to keep up with all of those part numbers, revisions and so on.

I checked the build sheet. I have the heavy duty cooling but no tow package. Must've been part of the aux switches. I had no idea that came with the heavy duty cooling. Good to know. I'm glad I figured this out before buying the fan.

Well, I just double checked my base sport with no tow package or aux switches. Came standard with the H7 battery, 240A alternator, higher amp fuse array but with the 600W cooling fan which fits the build sheet listing for "Standard Duty Cooling"

Since I had my prior 2022 Rubicon JT 850W cooling fan left over when I put the 940W fan in it back then, I swapped out my current 600W cooling fan for this 850W cooling fan.

Jeep Gladiator Add 850w heavy duty cooling fan to 3.6L Gladiator that didn't come with it. ( no Tow Package or Max Tow ) 20251019_152612

IMHO, it isnt the size of the fan its wether or not it can be controlled to come on sooner or even at the tap of a button for say pulling large grades with heavy loads travel trailers etc... thats what I have always wanted . I have the 240Alternator.
My Uncle Rick advised since I am refurbishing everything that ai should get a new Fan cause He said they tend to slow down as they age.

eBay, salvage yard, so on.

Yeah, the fan size and efficiency does matter. Hop over to the AMC side of things were people are experimenting with electric fans for performance driving..... it matters.
A larger fan will cool better at lower speeds, it won't need to kick into the highest speed to cool as well as a lesser fan will at its highest speed.
Power to pull the air through.

But again, I think a lot of this is over-thought and based on incorrect beliefs about temperatures.

Slowing down as in growing weak aging . Then the RPMs on them isnt as fast on the lowside.

They should not slow down. The JK may, but as far as I know, the JL and JT are brushless and should not lose speed.
